I'm in the processing of purchasing a used K5... I have been researching and trying to understand the focus correction on lenses.
My first question is how does this work... It seems like the auto focus sensor should see focus just like someone would with a split prism finder. It is either in focus or not regardless of what the distance scale says on the lens... Is it kind of like wearing glasses for a person? corrects things to be in focus?
Second, will this work on manual focus lenses? If not could it be that trap focus will be off just like an autofocus lens could need a correction?
Thanks in advance
Cory

I understand that it is generally more important to invest in lenses than bodies. Lenses hold their value because of not becoming outdated nearly as quickly. However I also know that a newer body has a higher resolution, better af, etc... When does it become advantages to upgrade a body... For example would you prefer a K10 with an awesome lens 16-50 2.8 for example or a k3 with a basic lens like an 18-55 kit lens? I ask because while I understand that lenses are more important, the body makes some difference. I have seen suggestions for people to upgrade their body for example even though their lenses aren't great... For example a guy had an ist and was recommended to get a newer body just because bodies have advanced so much. So in that situation keeping a kit lens and getting a better body was probably better... Where would you personally draw the line?

I'm really impressed with KS2 and flash... FF sounds like it will be amazing so no complaints. Will there be anything else?
Sorry if this isn't the right place to ask...

I can't wait for a fairly fragile camera... weather resistance is silly... I want glass... everyone says you should invest in glass. I want a fully glass body with glass mount...

Me too, but I ordered a 645Z from B+H... It seems kinda different inside. What should I do... This is all your fault... This is covered by warranty though right?

So I see it shows auto focus area as an option for both Katz Eye and focusingscreen.com. Do focus points light up on these?

I hope this doesn't sound rude...
You need to do a lot more research. If you are unsure of what lenses you need, you definitely don't need to spend the $$$ on a 645D. The reason I say this is that you most likely aren't just super wealthy, or you would just go straight to the 645Z. You are trying to save money and that is obviously good for 99% of us. But, if you haven't researched a camera that cost $4k used you are setting yourself up for dissappointment. You would most likely be better off with a K3 or whatever they are about to come out with.
