More like a 40-145 but you will also lose about a stop of light, which might be a problem for focusing

Increase Image Sync transfer speed by 2x by switching to playback mode

Hello, I was trying to troubleshoot slow wifi transfer speed between my K-1ii and my Android phone and I found a VERY easy way to speed things up.

Push the blue playback button.

(You can do also switch the camera to preview an image after starting transferring if you forgot to do it beforehand.).

I assume when the camera is left on and ready to shoot that it is reserving more CPU/power which limits the wifi transfer speeds.

I have an applet that shows my network usage on my phone and the results on average were:

Camera ready to shoot a picture: 250-350kB/s
Camera previewing a photo: 450-650kB/s

Side note: holding the optical preview button achieves the same effect, but that is tiring. I assume if you want to optimize battery life on your camera, you could do that as it will turn off your LCD. Or at least turn your LCD to darkest view setting while transferring photos.

I hope this tip helps those who are frustrated with the Image Sync app.

Also, if anyone can test this behavior on iPhone or other camera bodies, you could put your results here. If you can't measure network speed, you can just include the file size and time how long the transfer takes before and after switching to playback mode. Someone here could help with the math if you aren't sure how to calculate.

The XR6 amd XR7 use the same kit, they are the same bodies, the XR6 is Auto only, while the XR7 has Auto, Manual modes and multi exposure, the XR10 or KR10 Super are the XR7 minus multi exposure. I think the same kit also works for the XR-P and KR-30sp

USPS Priority Mail well packaged.

That's the lens in it's original padded case, in the original box wrapped in bubble wrap in a larger box.

I think I need to seek help... I picked up yet another Industar-50. I've lost count of how many I have of the 50 and 50-2. Too many, that's for sure.

I took a punt on this one... The eBay auction gave almost no information except to say that the lens and Zenit camera it was attached to were "untested", which usually means trouble. Sure enough, camera and lens were in a dreadful state. Filthy, lens focusing and diaphragm rings almost completely seized, glass infested with fungus. If it wasn't for the fact that the lens body looked to be in nice condition under all of the dirt, I might have simply tossed it.

I've spent hours on this, spread out over the course of the day. The fungus has been removed, leaving nice clean glass. I finally managed to get the focusing helicoid apart with heat and brute force, then cleaned and re-lubricated it. The diaphragm came apart quite easily, but was messy with hard, congealed Russian "ear wax" lubricant, and the blades were pretty dirty. That's all been cleaned, the diaphragm rebuilt and the threads for the diaphragm ring lightly lubricated. Finally, all the body parts have been cleaned.

I think it was worth the effort... It might be one of the nicest examples I own, and I'm pretty sure it's the earliest gloss black version in my collection. At 52 years old, it's older than me and in much better condition :p

A Young Pentaxian's concerns

I'm not young, but I am aware enough to realize that video is becoming more important every day. Younger users realize this, and the brand won't grow or continue to be viable if Pentax continues to downplay video.
