Number 2. Heaps of great photos but, to me, 2's compensation wins out.

With a 100mm lens, it will do 1:1 - plus a little extra due to the helicoid. I have used El-Nikor 50mm enlarger lenses in the past for higher magnifications.

All are fine cameras and each offers compelling reasons. I suggest thinking things over completely about where you would like to go with your photography. Price can offer less resistance to making a purchase. However, if it turns out less than what you need, it can be the more expensive option. In other words, buy what is the best option for you, otherwise, don't complain that you made the wrong choice and then buying what you really want.
I have labored many times about bodies, lenses, tripods and each time I took the cheaper route, I ended spending much more money in the long run. Please do not ask me how much money I have spent buying lesser tripods only to buy the one I use now (hint - over 3 times what I would have spent if I had bought it originally)

I thought I had replied to this from my tablet.
This lens is a screwmount m42 lens that was designed to be used with the Spotmatic and earlier cameras (I assume we are taking about the 50mm macro). In order to use it, you will need to have the Pentax lens mount adapter see: B&H Photo Video Digital Cameras, Photography, Camcorders
This is placed into the camera body and turned to lock in to place (to remove, the spring clip is depressed and the mount is rotated out of the body). Once installed, the lens will screw in and ready to use. To use, place the camera in AV mode, switch the lever to "auto", focus, set desired apeture, move the switch to manual (the camera will set exposure) and take the picture. The custom function "using aperture ring" must be set to permitted.
All of the above may sound complicated but the image quality features of this lens are outstanding and is not (like a lot of lenses today) just able to focus.
Cheers,
Bob

Simple way to remove the lens correction is to un-tick the box in the development module for lens correction.
