It makes the User modes endless, birding for the morning just load up your 10 saved bird settings, shooting a wedding in the afternoon, load up 10 more for indoor, outdoor, church settings etc. I may find this useful.

Sorry for not getting back sooner, after rereading my post I see I was not clear on my findings. I was able to adjust aperture and speed. Your camera/flash do not seem to be making proper contact or yes your K3-3 has a defect.

Just tried my 280T(set in auto mode) paired with the K3-3 in P and Tv mode as described by Not A Number. The camera allowed me to change speed and aperture, which tells me the flash and camera contacts are not mating properly or there is a fault in the camera. Hope this helps.

With my K3 and 280T I always used SV mode, as you adjusted the aperture the ISO would ride up and down and the camera set the sync speed

Did I miss something in one of the updates, currently running firmware 1.6. On the focus screen a capital E with 2 rings around it has appeared in the lower right hand corner. Please tell me you all have it or am I loosing it ?

Had something a bit similar happen this afternoon. I was killing some time playing with the jpeg options bright, neutral, etc when the rear screen went black. I was able to access the info and menu with a visual but if I took a picture there was no instant review nor could I review previous pictures. Remembering this thread I went through it and the solution was to remove the battery, thank you sebberry. Suspect somehow I confused the camera and it just needed to reboot.

Updated to new firmware and tested 3 lenses, previous adjustments are all good with and without the teleconverter. Just need some nicer weather to try it out in the real world.

Hey Kobie could you elaborate on this "I then reset all lens adjustments (green button reset) and now it's perfect at 0. " I haven't updated the firmware yet just want to be prepared if I have to fine tune my lenses again.

Hi Timus, if your referring to the back LCD screen it can be cycled on and off with the info button, hope this helps.

Well it took a month for the camera to arrive, the actual driving time from Pentax Mississauga to Henry's Toronto to Henry's Barrie is maybe 3 hours, suspect Pentax was waiting for a shipment which caused the delay. I guess at a final price of 1674.90.CDN ( $1331.00 US ) I shouldn't complain too much lol.

Barrie is only 15 minutes away, so we’ll worth the drive. I would think all of the Henry’s stores would offer the same deal.

Sorry I was wrong on the price, due to their price matching policy they offered another 75 dollars off, final price 1674.90. Now the waiting till it arrives.

That’s the tough thing about that lens, the answers are all over the map. Either no failures or just buy it and convert it if problems, decisions decisions decisions. If the asking price was reasonable I would go for it but in this case I may be best to wait. Thanks for your responses.

Hi, I have a chance to purchase a DA 50-135 serial number 9009617 and like everyone am concerned about SDM failure. The owner says the box said Ricoh not Hoya although the box is gone so really not sure. Is there any other way of telling from the serial number ? or if it has the updated SDM ?

You will have to go back to the basics. I suggest the 1st thing to check are the cords continuity with an ohm meter. If this proves good one or more contacts are either switched or not making contact, find someone with a basic knowledge of electronics and they will sort it out for you.

I've always used a sandblaster to erase photos on my SD card, maybe I will give this a try.
