I've been a member here for a good long while, though not very active. I've mostly been using other gear. but when I acquired the K-01, I stepped back in, mostly in that venue. Today while browsing the photos, I "liked" a few, but then was told that I must " spread it around". Refused my "like". I refuse to be told what I can like, and what I cannot. That is not freedom.
So I will log out now, and wish every one a very good day.
Not angry, just very disappointed,
Steve

I bought mine with the new firmware installed. Seller said shutter count of "1". But file number showed 400+. I suspect the new firmware "zeros" the EXIF data. Any one know if this is true?

TIP: (I can only answer for the K-01)
On -"M" lenses, I break or clip off the "aperture tang" of the lens. Set the camera to aperture priority, and set aperture on lens. The camera sets shutter to get exposure. Works great! LCD now is "WYSIWYG", with no hassle. I've "fixed" 2 lenses for my K-01. They also work fine on adapters for m4/3.
WARNING! Lens is now ruined, for any other use.
I use the Pentax-M 50mm F1.7 and the Tokina RMC 80-200mm F4.0. Tokina is very soft wide open, better at 5.6, good at 8 and better at 11.
With 2 or 3 close up adapters, I'm ready for nearly any outdoor chore, except wide, and that is next.
This K-01 is quickly growing on me.

Whether they continue it or a successor or not, mine works fine, and I will keep using it as long as it satisfies my need. And it was worth the $270 paid for it, sans lens.
I would like to see a follow up to the idea, with a VF in the upper left corner.

I didn't mean to give a negative impression of the K-01. In fact I love it outdoors on tripod. (shaky hands)

I have found that "peaking" with the K-01 and -M 50mm F1'7, gives too much "shimmer", in bright light, stopped down, with high contrast landscape. I prefer to turn it off. It is very useful for some subjects, especially in low light, and open aperture.
The comparison of MF moving subjects, with old film cameras with VF and split/image, verses LCD, is not even close in my experience (old eyes). The VF and focus screen gives a much more positive indication. The LCD does have other advantages.

I too, am glad for the "gloves on" operation. And, it's the best tripod camera that I have ever owned (dozens).

I had the same thing happen at my brothers military funeral. Only got two shots. When I tried viewing pics, it had a blank frame. In desparation, I deleated it and the camera and card was fine. It has not failed since. Don't know what happened. It's a K20.

Love this one. Tried to "like" this post. Forum would not let me until I "liked" some one else first! What's with that?

I really don't understand why some folks here are so hateful is response to simple statement of opinion by others. Personal insults are not needed, or helpful.

I thought this was a discussion of an idea, not a name calling opportunity. I just came back to this forum after a long absence. I guess it's time to move right back out. I don"t need this in my old age. Goodbye all

Rich people create jobs by simply spending money for products and services. It takes people to provide those, therefore, jobs. Simple.

I once had the tamron lens and have never had a better lens. Great set to give a bit of color on a cold day.

I have taken lenses apart that had issues and glued the front portion that holds the elements to a adapter ring to make a macro setup. It is then screwed into the filter ring on your normal or wide angle prime. Not all combinations will work well, but certian combinations are great. I am now working on the front of a Konica 135mm that I did not find to be sharp enough on a m4/3 mount.

Been gone from here for a while. Need to catch up.
Just got this H1a, crank and shutter jammed. Body is otherwise in excellent condition. Anyone have this version? Maybe had the "jammed" condition and fixed it your self?
Lens is the Super - Takumar, f 1:2/55. Lens is bit dirty but optics very nice. Put it on the Olympus E-p1 and it gives a beautiful clear (not sharp) image, with very smooth out of focus background. This lens is my new portrait lens.

Let me throw one more thought into the confusion. Panasonic G-1, or 2. SLR look, feel, but small, good kit lens, execellent sensor and comes in colors! My daughter-in-law got the G-1 as a move up from p&s. It has been an excellent choice and she has done some very nice work with it. I now use the E-p1 but am considering a G-1 as second body for the VF and bright light.

[QUOTE=Supernaut;1161888 This can not be worked around.
Not to challenge the statement, but it seems that every new invention has those that say "can't be done".
