No Problem, You need lighter fluid, Q-tips and a piece of tissue paper.
1: Open the aperture and put some paper under to keep most of the oil off of the inside lens.
2: Close the aperture and use a Q-Tip wet with the lighter fluid ( Don't be stingy with the fluid you need to really wet the blades ) and gently wipe the blades to
wet them.
3: Then use a clean dry Q-Tip to mop up the oil.
4: Repeat this a few times and operate the blades wet with the lighter fluid as well.
5: With a rocket blower or similar blow dry the blades, remove the tissue paper from under and clean up the lens if needed.
I have done this many times on different lenses and it always works out.

Greetings from the newest Pentax devotee.

Though my initial photographic education back in 1976 involved a Spotmatic, I have only recently acquired my own Pentax gear and have become a believer. Last summer I became friends with a gentleman who was handling his late father's estate, and among the numerous cameras in his collection were a black Pentax KX, one of the iconic cameras of my teen years, with an SMC 35/2.8, and Super-Takumar 50/1.4 & 85/1.9 M42 lenses with adapter. Sadly, none of this equipment was in working order, having been neglected for decades. Reluctantly, I decided to purchase the lot for a nominal sum. After some research, I learned of the pedigree of the Super-Takumar lenses and decided it was worthwhile investing in CLA for all of it. In particular, the 85/1.9 excited me because to my eye 85 is a perfect focal length. Having for years had no use for a 50, I now find them the most versatile focal length and am a bit spoiled for choice. The Super-Takumar 50/1.5 was yellowed to about thee stops, making f1.4 equivalent to about f4. I thought it was hopeless, but discovered that not only was it salvageable but also considered one of the best 50s ever.

I showed this 50 to a photographer friend, and he began to wax lyrical about the Spotmatic he had when he first started out professionally and asked if I could get him one. A half-hour later, I did. Before passing it on, I shot a roll of Ilford PanF and was duly impressed. When My wife & I presented it to him, he nearly broke down in tears. And no wonder; I found the Spotmatic such a joy to use that I had to get my own. It arrived yesterday morning, a black Spotmatic SP in excellent condition and newly CLA'd. It's a testament to the quality of these cameras that nearly 50 years later they are still functional & reparable. Long live film, I say.

We've gone from the sublime to the ridiculous with this thread.
This is the second time it's degenerated into a slap fest.

And be prepared, you might have to write the story for that photo you took. As a journalist, myself, I've had to do that with every photo I had published, especially, in small town newspapers.

I'm so happy the OP is not running Pentax...
Sorry, PTCLG, but Pentax won't survive by building expensive cameras for $30 lenses found at the flea market. Nor by abandoning over 90% of the DSLR market (yes, "FF" is still in single digits).
The K-3 is an excellent move, and it's what made the 645Z possible. APS-C is the one enabling them to make and support larger formats (by sharing R&D, components, accessories, even lenses); it's a grave mistake to consider it your enemy.

I always leave SR on. When working on a tripod I either use 2 second self timer or remote - both of which turn off SR anyway.

If still shots (like landscapes) I use the three second timer. It will automatically turn off SR, raise the mirror up and take the shot. Just remember to reset it afterward.

I feel guilty starting a new thread just to announce that my K-3 arrived via UPS about an hour ago so I thought I'd join in on OregonJim's news. I'm now anxiously waiting for the battery to charge.

Any idea how long the battery lasts if you're shooting still shots, no flash?

Ooh, tough crowd. Even the baby's waving a stick. I nominate this one because I think I know the cop on the left. No....wait....that's not Bazza.
No matter, you've got my vote anyway, even if the focus with your Nikon D80 seems a little off.

TIPA has just given the K-3 the "Best Expert DSLR" award, a title which was previously also given to the K10D back in 2007.
Pentax K-3: Best Expert DSLR (TIPA 2014) - Pentax News- Pentax Camera Forums

In other news, the Sony A7R won the best professional mirrorless category, and a lot of love was given to the Fuji X-T1 within the expert mirrorless category. The Nikon 1 AW1 mirrorless won be "best rugged compact" category, which makes it the first ILC with the distinction. The Nikon D4s, Df, D3300 and Canon 70D also won other DSLR categories.

Sigma won best photographic service for their mount conversion service, and their 18-200mm lens (which is still unavailable for Pentax) won best entry-level lens.

The Thule Perspektiv series won "best photo bag"- will have to try one out to see if it's really the best ;)

One more, especially since you're an Oregoner. What if you encounter Sasquatch?

---------- Post added 04-19-14 at 12:55 PM ----------

I'm OK with APSC most of the time, but my next camera will be FF. I want access to wider FOV with my K and M lenses. Don't forget that every FF has an APSC selectable sensor built right in, and that's another feature I plan to use.
