I use ACDSee and I only have one thing I have against it. That is the updates, say from 2020 to 2021, install as new applications rather than just an upgrade to the old. It's a pain having to redo keywords and things

I use an Arctic Butterfly brush to clean the sensor, because I can't control where the debris is blown to with a blower.

I think the surface of the mirror and focussing screen are far more sensitive to damage than the sensor. I think I read somewhere there is a coating over the sensor, so when you clean it's not the actual sensor you are touching.

From experience of changing focus screens the least touch and you see it.

I did not have any photo's of the lens in question. But things have moved on and I've bought a none SMC f1.8 85mm

I am been offered for sale a Takumar M42 lens with cleaning marks to the SMC coating.

My first question is, how much might it affect the performance of the lens?

Second knowing how old the lenses are would some wear/damage be expected?
