Hi, Alison here. I'm located in Melbourne Australia, and spend a lot of time on the NSW South Coast. Intend to retire there in 12 months or so.
have just upgraded from an istD (which my son now has - still a great little camera BTW) to a K20D. I have a Pentax 18-200mm lens, Tamron Macro and a Sigma 10-20mm Wideangle.
I came to photography reasonably late (only 5 yrs ago), by way of painting - wanting to take shots of subject matter for my art. Have fallen under the spell of photography as well.
I need to understand more about the science of photography (apertures, f-stops etc) to enable me to take that good shot by design, not by accident. My composition is OK, but the techo stuff severly lacking.
I'm interested in exploring HDR photography once I get over the techo hump!!
Would love to hear from other members in Australia (esp Vic or sthn NSW).
cheers,
Alison

Hi,
I've found a self-published book on the K20d by Yvon Bourque. Available to download as an e-book, or purchase, from k10dbook home.
It has a lot of the why and when, not just the how....
cheers,
