Relax.
Even if it was true (which I doubt), I'm sure somebody will buy the rights to k-mount as an easy way of entering the SLR market...

Microsoft has a lot of patents on all the "advanced" FAT stuff. Long file names are part of that and licensing it will add cost..

Eh, so just because you have no use for it... it's nonsense?
I never missed the function before I got a p&s that has it (Casio EX-S10). I use it all the time there. Turning it on and and pressing the shutter, means the camera will not take a photo until you've hold it steady (you don't have to hold the shutter).
It's surprisingly useful.

More then 999 interval shots. It's only 41 seconds if you convert the final result to a 24fps movie. (but still ten times better then my K20D)
SR priority. Just like AF-S with focus priority, but only shoot when the shaking has reached a level where the camera thinks it can handle it (with the current shutter speed). I like to do some fairly long exposures hand held, and sometimes the action of going from half press to full press has an impact. If I could full-press and the camera would wait for my hand to stop moving/shaking, I would probably get more usable shots. As it is now I usually do a series of 3-5 shots, hoping one of them are good. Probably need a 1-5 sensitivity setting or some people will never get a shot ;) (my 100us$ P&S has this)

That's a beautiful shot. Stunning indeed. So sharp.

I like the second one the best. I wish I had take it :)
This first one is a bit unflattering to her nose I think. Not crazy about the grain is the last one. Looks strange to me... to digital maybe

Bold.
But I agree on the resizing/same cropping comments. Not sure it can be done, unless you have a shot where she isn't tilting the flowers (or you are willing to do some serious photoshop). She's currently tilting a bit to the right..
The think is - you need to get those niceties right, as there's not face to grab our attention and lead us away from the small details...

I think the first of them have to many details and to little contrast between foreground and background. It all blends together a bit much.
I really like the one with the shoes and the "no graffiti" sign

If you shot them with a flash use the "as flash" whitebalance option?

It's a beautiful scene, but my eyes aren't quite sure where to focus. Lots of things going in different directions and the only thing that's really sharp seems to be the grass in the foreground.
I've done an alternative crop and attached it. Hope you don't mind.

I think your second crop has better balance.
Maybe desaturate the background a bit (mainly the red thingy), to make it less distracting..
p.s.: Welcome to copenhagen - hope you have fun here.

I think you did good. It's cold.
On further scrutiny her skin colors isn't really something that I would think of as cold - that would be paler with more splotchy red.
It's a bit had to see at this res, but her eyes seem to be slightly out of focus, I would guess your focus panel is close to the scarf/back edge of the cup...

Basically looking for something cheaper then a Tamron 90mm 2.8 - like a Cosina 100mm f/3.5 or similar.

Interesting - amazon.uk still has it at 1.129,- preorder... I guess the European prices isn't going to be that bad...

Agreed. Nothing there, that I haven't done with my K20D.
(Not that I can do it everytime, but that isn't about the camera)

Thanks. One of the reasons the Sigma 17-70 is usually on the camera - always ready both for macro and portrait.

Damn, I'll be looking for this - I though I saw a price of 1400us$ and was kind of annoyed - I have a samyang 85/1.4 but for my usage really need the AF (moving kids). 900 isn't to bad..

The old version K-Mount of the Sigma 17-70 is my main lens and has been for more then five years. Would be the first thing I buy if I ever switch systems.
I had the Tamron 70-300 in Kmount and replaced with the 55-300 Pentax, as the Tamron has to much fringing on between 200-300

I like the off center composition. If it was my shot, I would probably clone (or crop) out the thingy in the ceiling (is it a surveillance camera?). It doesn't add anything and is a bit distracting.

Cute and I think the BW is perfect for a baby shot. For anything but a baby I would have preferred a bit more mid-tone contrast.
