yeh I think its a 2, it certianly was sharp, Also one more thing (sorry to keep asking a lot) I notice the big zooms are really expensive for good glass, but what if i go down the older lens route... what are the disadvantages, I know the plus is price, but what are the minuses (p.s I dont see manual focus or selecting ap as a minus)

Budget is the question here and thanks for pointing these out for me,

also on another note the first DSLR i used was a E400 (friends) it had a ZUIKO DIGITAL 14-54mm 1:2.8-3.5 lens, what is the closest pentax lens to it?

I am having fun at the moment ;), I am just in getting to grips with the camera mode and testing and trying different settings and generally messing about... I am a noob so any pointers good and bad are welcome.

I must of took 15 times as many bad shots as i have good lol..

he is a daft cat, and pretty loony as well, thinks that any scratching noise is a sign to play and goes all hyper... may get him a toy with catnip in before i shoot him again

Ok got primed into the DSLR world with a loan of a freinds e400, this made me buy one so i got the K200D with kit lens...

However I know i need some lenses, first off I want to get a good macro lens, on this front I could live with the manual focus ect on the lens.

The second lens I will be looking for is a larger zoom lens, I want this distance shooting say 200 to 300 (could someone post pics of diffenrances of focal on these lenses please) also not bothered if this is manual either, but will look at auto solutions as well.

Thanks in advance :D

really i know that, ... and now i see, which makes me feel stupid now,,, ok these were took with friends DSLR e400 or something.... I borrowed a friends camera for a day and took some photos on that, then a week later bought my k200D.. all photos i have taken so far are in one folder... so i guess ill have to go through them all and see which ones are from olympus and which are from mine.. what made me buy pentax over the olympus i had tried.... was my trusty little A20

Sorry, and thanks for the tips :o

P.S ill delete the attachments if needed

Just my first attempt of showing some lavender that has just about survived the winter, normal and cropped. please be nice this is my first attempt at this sort of photograph :o

Edited, these are my first pictures with a DSLR and it was an olympus e400... fear not it was a friends and it is what convinced me to get one, my natural choice was pentax as i loved my little a20 so i got a k200D so expect some more photos from that it the near future

Hi all new to the digital SLR world and well.... infomation overload... good Job i found this forum as i am already using in for referance.

My First SLR is Acually a K200D, with SMC DA lens kit, also managed to grab myself a battery grip for a bargin on ebay, and stocked up with my enelopes...

I am already seeing that mastering photography this way is going to be a lengthy proccess, everytime i read something new off i go and try it lol... so i will be around for some time...
