Having a sell out to help fund a purchase of a K-7 (fingers crossed!): PENTAX K20D Camera
I am selling my very-well-looked-after K20D, body only. It's in excellent condition, no dents or dings except for a faint, hardly noticable scratch on the bottom. The camera has had a screen protector on since day 1. It has had approx. 6,500 shutter actuations and there is nothing mechanically wrong with it. It comes with all original accessories, manual and the original box. The camera is still under Pentax's US Imaging warranty until June 2012 (camera was purchased in the US) and I'm including the original reciept and extended warranty card. It has never been sent in for any repairs. SOLD
Free postage anywhere in Australia, $40 postage to US, contact me for postage cost for anywhere else.
The following items I am selling because I have been given them or picked them up cheap and they are just sitting around collecting dust. All the lenses have fungus but if you can be bothered cleaning them up they'd be great bargains: Pentax Spotmatic II Camera
Camera is in very good condition, however I don't know if it works or not. It was purchased with a lens I have kept, and the lens is in excellent condition so I assume the camera was just as well loved. $30
$10 postage in Australia, other countries please contact me for postage quote Asahi SMC Pentax-M Zoom 80mm-200mm f/4.5
Very Good cosmetic condition but has fungus. $20
$8 postage in Australia, other countries please contact me for postage quote Alpex Auto Telephoto 135mm f/2.8
Good cosmetic condition, but also has fungus. $10
$8 postage in Australia, other countries please contact me for postage quote Tamron Adaptall 2 80-210mm f/3.8-4
Fair cosmetic condition, a bit dirty. It also has fungus and I'm not even sure if it fits on a Pentax camera! $15
$8 postage in Australia, other countries please contact me for postage quote

Thanks RobA_Oz. Unfortunately I can't use Remote Assistant with my k200d (darn it) but I'll eventually be upgrading to a compatible dslr and by then I hope they have also made this app compatible with Pentax cameras. It looks pretty nifty. Until then I'll just keep using my Pentax F remote (sigh).

Sorry that it came across like I was urging people to harrass the developers...
They've asked people to let them know which cameras we would like to see this developed for. Quote: "As for Olympus, Pentax and Sony, it would be good to hear from more of you so if you fall into one of those camps and want this app to support those cameras, please spread the word and have them leave a comment."
They are currently working out the bugs for Nikon cameras and it will probably be released as an update in about 2-3 weeks. If enough Pentax users let them know we want it to, I thought they might have then started working towards a version for us.

For all you iPhone users who have seen onOne's new dslr remote app for Canon cameras and wish they made one for us Pentax users, please follow this link and place a vote for a pentax version iPhone App from onOne - One onOne with Mike Wong
If we bombard them with requests they might just do it!

Does anyone know anything at all about the Sunpak 888 AF flash? Until I can afford a whiz-bang flash for my k200d I thought I might check this one out as I can get it cheap, cheap, cheap. I can't find any info on it though, anywhere so I don't know whether it would be a waste of time. Suggestions, anyone?

Thanks everyone! I'm following xjjohnno's advice and going with my instincts. I've been reading so much about lenses the last few weeks it got a bit overwhelming and confusing. I need to just make a decision and start taking LOTS of photos, then I'll figure out what I want and need in my collection. It's been great to hear which lenses you rate and it's given me a lot to think about and look out for. I've found somewhere to get a cheap, new k200d body and then I'm going to put my money towards a lens I really want, instead of buying the camera with a kit lens I might not use as much. Head is clearing, headache disappearing... :)

Thanks everyone, after doing some more reading on different lenses I'm leaning towards buying the k200d with pentax 18-55 lens and trying to get hold of a second hand pentax 50mm 1.7 prime. I usually do a lot of low light indoors and portrait photography and this lens seems to be a good one to go for? When I upgrade (to another pentax!) in the future I can resell the camera with the kit lens. I think I'm making the right decision, I want to build up my lens collection over time but for now, while I'm still learning, I want a great standard lens.

I'm hoping someone can please help me make up my mind, I can't make a decision...
I'm upgrading from a K100D Super to a K200D. I'm selling my Sigma 18-55mm kit lens with the K100D and keeping my Sigma 70-300mm lens for the new camera.
Now my problem is I can't decide whether to buy a K200D with a Pentax 18-55mm kit lens which sells for about AU$790 or get it instead with a Sigma 18-200mm for about AU$980.
I know Pentax make a better lens, however after reading reviews on this particular kit lens it's meant to be only slightly better than the Sigma 18-200mm which is more convenient (travel, not changing lenses as much etc.)
Can anyone give me advice on what to do? It's good being able to read reviews, but nowhere near as good hearing from someone who has these lenses.
