Wow, that was some contest. I will have to admit that this was a very hard thing to do - pick out the winner. We had some really great entries this time around. But I have to choose only 1 winner, which is a shame as a picture is a personal preference thing. Something which i like not necessarily has to be the best one technically.
Anyways, here it goes:
We had 9 entries for this contest. Good to see people taking time off from their busy lives for this.
honorable mentions:
Bill2849 - wow...you really brought out the magentas in the sky. Really liked how it looked.
TenZ.NL- the tilt shift effect was very nicely done. Good to see you taking a different approach!
Atupdate - well we cant have enough of the gorilla. Infact my wife thought it was the best modification of all!
Astonm- i dont think anybody got as much details out of the pic as you did. Especially in the shadow region.
And here are the winners:
3rd: Todd - wow....you focused your effort on the sky and it really pops out with the dazzling oranges and yellows....a really fire in the sky look! well done.
2nd: D1N0's rendering of the new Amsterdam look. In many ways its a winner. Its transformed the pic to look a different era. And the effect is really really well done. Could be used in a livingroom as it is. And it probably stands equal to the winner. Another day, in another mood, i would have picked it as a winner.
1st: ArneTorp: The pic looks stunning in clarity everytime i look at it.The streets and the cars all are clearly seen. And i looked at each pic so many times. And then aligned them together and compared even. The effect is really well done, the blues and yellows of the sky is nicely preserved. The only drawback i felt was that the water was too smooth and it lost details at the shores, and a little exaggerated star burst. But I think as a whole, the composition works well.
Congratulations to all for taking part in the game.

Already some very good contributions. Happy to see a bit more people taking part, though it makes the job harder in the end, it brings about perceptive and artistic differences between each one of us.
If you are still at the edge, please submit your variation of the processed image. The deadline is 29th Nov. Sorry I forgot to mention earlier.

thanks for making me the winner! Been having a hard time with the computer crash. Recovery took a while and ended up putting that pic as a first thing with the 'new' system. Well, hold on as I get a pic from the backup drive once i get home.

Thank you to all those who entered the challenge. There were some great perspectives of the image that was put up: D1NO: Excellent clarity, perhaps the best in clarity of all the submissions. Great effect with eagle-head sticker. Goes/blends exceptionally well with the boat's tone. Would have been great if there was some drama in the half of the picture-occupying sky. jrcastillo: Good use of vignetting and focusing. Seemed a setting suited for a sunset scene with sunset-colors in the sky to me though. wolfiegirl: Certainly a different perspective. And you added a lot of color in the sky. todd: You fixed the sky! And made a happy looking scene. narual: I think this could would have worked well if there as a little bit more details. I found it a little had to see. Maybe it is my screen. atupdate: really like the clarity and the effort put in to fix the sky and the addition of an extra element on the water. astonm: I liked the way you cropped off the sky. It really accentuated the boat.
Judging is harder than I thought. But I have to pick a winner to lead the next challenge. Here it goes:
We put all the pics together to see if one stood really out.
3rd Place: D1NO with the excellent clarity and the pic brings out the boat as a subject very nicely. https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/members/16350-kunju/albums/7397-pp-113-ju...ture65304.html
I had a lot of debate with my wife on the winner as we could not pick one between Todd and Atupdate.
2nd Place: https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/members/16350-kunju/albums/7397-pp-113-ju...ture65304.html
Finally I have go with Todd. The picture is a tad bit over saturated, and had noisy sky, but the sharpness of the foreground really tilted me in its favor. https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/members/16350-kunju/albums/7397-pp-113-ju...ture65309.html
Congrats Todd.
You get to host the next challenge.

At one point I thought I should have put a different picture...something more vibrant. But i am already amazed at how other people have imagined and transformed the picture. Great going guys. Let them come...you only gave 3 more days....

Welcome to the 113th edition of the Post Processing challenge. Since this is my first time doing this I would appreciate if you would excuse my mistakes. I have selected a rather mundane photo for you all to modify, bring to life and show your artistic brilliance. This was taken at a beach in NJ with a K30 and a borrowed 18-250mm Sigma lens f11, fully extended. As usual, there are no rules for this challenge and no restrictions on the post processing liberties you may take.
This challenge ends on Tuesday October 15th at midnight Eastern Time (New York city time).

Good luck and happy editing
