50-135mm, disappointed and broke

The seller has promised me several times that she would send the paperwork as well as all of the missing pieces but still, I have not received a shred of paper - it is too bad that she listed the lens when she was selling it as MINT but neglected to include everything in the box (it WAS nicely shipped though)

Sad broke G/F here. Being a newbie, I knew nothing of lenses/cameras etc, so I thought manually focusing the lens was what I had to do to make it work... it worked perfectly when I was manually focusing it for the first couple of days and took phenomenal photos - but then all of a sudden it started focusing on its own and surprised me. I didn't know it was supposed to do that! I thought it was a setting I changed on my camera! But then it stopped, and started and stopped and started etc. I showed it to my BF and he said that it is ALWAYS supposed to focus automatically unless you set your camera and the lens to manual and that the lens was malfunctioning and that I should contact the seller.

Needless to say, I contacted the seller over and over and over and over (I trusted her that she didn't know about the SMD issue and JUST wanted the warranty, lens hood cover and the soft cover for the lens and all of the other paperwork to send it in to have it fixed) and she kept telling me "I have the missing stuff, it will be in the mail tomorrow, or monday or next week bla bla bla" She kept giving me health excuses on why she cant get it in the mail or that she was too busy - and I remained compassionate with her problems and tried to sit tight. Now she wont contact me at all, and I don't care for the reason why anymore. Sigh. I am really upset that I have a dud lens that I cant afford to fix... not to mention a nice camera I have a bitter taste in my mouth for...

I am very happy to hear that. I had no doubt that she was reliable, she sent everything so quickly and did everything by the book :) Hopefully someone will have some insight on how to get the darn thing working if I dont have the warranty card

I did not receive the warranty card from the person I bought it from off of here, so I guess I am a little hooped without it. I am not even sure if it is under warranty anymore.

I cleaned it all, and I still have issues with it. I hope the fellow Pentax forums member I bought it from will give me the warranty card for it so I can at least get it fixed...

I bought a DA50-135mm from a fellow PF user and it doesn't work most of the time. The AF works once in a while but mostly not. I've tried it on a K10D and my K200D and it still isn't auto focusing. Did I get a dud? Both cameras are up to date and all of our other AF lenses seem to work fine. But as soon as I put the 50-135 on, it will auto focus for a little bit and then stop, or not auto focus at all. There was no warranty card or manual in the box that it was sent to me with, so I am afraid I purchased a lens that doesn't work and I am stuck with a dud purchase... Sigh. Alsom if I end up having to pay to get this lens fixed to send it away to pentax, does anyone know how much it would cost me?:eek:

Thanks everyone. The kids were having lots of fun... I asked the parents if I could snap a few photos and that is what came out of the works.

The cat is some alley cat, my boyfriend and I deemed him "concerned cat" because he looks so darned concerned.

As for the cauliflower, I do believe it is called Romanesco broccoli. According to wiki, Romanesco broccoli was first documented in Italy in the sixteenth century. Looks prehistoric to me, however very fun to photograph.

I got some rechargeable Ni-Mh batteries from the camera store the DAY i bought my camera and they shorted it out. I thought there was something wrong with the camera but thank god it was the useless batteries they sold me (that I couldn't return grrr. Anyway, I know that Lithium batteries last a long time, alot longer than any others, and was wondering if any one knows of anything adverse happening to my K200D if I used Lithium rechargeable? I think I will play it safe for now and stick with eneloop until I get the galls to put anything else in my camera. I just about had a heart attack when I put those batteries in and it wouldnt turn on...

/FYI - the battery brand they sold me was TAMA AA1.25V Ni-MH 2800 mAh

//the don't even fit in a regular flashlight

Just a few photos I took with the K200D. A few are using a manual 50MM Pentax FA 1-1.4 Lens.
