I have an AMD 1.8 GHz quad core 64 bit processor, 4 GB ram, Windows 7 64 bit operating system. My HD camcorder videos work fine, they aren't jerky at all. I'm wondering if maybe there is a problem with the camera processor or file management when writing to the card.

I've tried shooting a few videos with my K5. I didn't buy the camera for video capability but thought I would try it out. The videos I've taken are very jerky, for lack of a better term. The card I'm using is a Sandisk Extreme 30mb/s that is supposed to be for HD video. Anybody have any ideas what could be causing this?

I would say it's the filter.

I appologize. I was wrong. I looked at the lcd screen when I posted that. After looking in the viewfinder, I see what you're talking about and I compared the lcd and the viewfinder. The other person was right.
Sorry Philbaum. I opened my "mouth" before verifying my information.

4 would be 4 seconds and 0.4 would be 4/10 of a second. The K5 is very clear on shutter speeds. I just looked at my K5 to confirm this.

Mika...to use an old cliche', you are comparing apples and oranges. 35mm film will always have a different look than digital. It doesn't matter if the digital is full frame, APS-C, medium format or micro 4/3. Film is a physical medium where digital is 1's and 0's. The two will never look the same.

I'm just going by the description. It says "Mini rapid charger fully charges the battery in approximately 60-90 minutes." Have you timed how long it takes to charge your battery?

Thanks for the replies. If I buy the charger, I'll only use it when I'm traveling or need a quick charge. My main charger will still be the Pentax charger.

Does anybody have any experience with the off brand quick battery chargers for the D-Li90 batteries? Amazon has a Wasabi brand charger that is 110/12v and is supposed to be a quick charger. The price is only $14. I have 3 Pentax batteries for my K5 with grip and would love to be able to charge in my vehicle and charge faster than the factory charger but I don't want to damage my batteries either.

Thanks everybody. Sorry it took me so long to get back to the thread, we have been so busy at my full time job. I don't use credit cards, I'll use my debit card which is a mastercard. I checked with the bank, though, and they don't offer the extended warranty on purchases. I'll probably just go with the Pentax warranty. Like everybody said, for $20 it's a no brainer.

I am looking to buy a K-5 within the next week. I am probably going to buy from B&H. My question is should I buy the Sagemax extended warranty or not? If I could buy from my local camera store, I would buy their warranty, but they no longer handle Pentax. My only option is to order online. I haven't seen any recent reviews of Sagemax. Any advice would be appreciated.

I live in Arkansas. There is not a Pentax retailer in the state. I live 100 miles from Memphis and there isn't even a Pentax retailer there. I would much rather buy in person, but I don't have any choice.

Just my opinion. I like the overall composition of the picture. I like the saturation in background rocks, however the green on the trees seems to be a little over saturated to me. I don't know if that was in camera or if you added some saturation PP. Overall, I like the photo.

I have a Sigma 70-300 zoom. The zoom ring is fairly hard to turn. Is there anyway to lubricate this without getting any lube inside the lens itself?

Thanks for the comments. There is a little motion blur in the clouds and moon. The clouds were moving fairly fast that night.

I stepped outside the other night and saw this scene across the road. I hate the noise of the drill rig, but this shot was too pretty to pass up. I ran back inside, grabbed the camera and tripod and took this picture. It was shot with a K200, 18-55mm lens at 35mm. The exposure was f9 at 2.5 sec and ISO 400. Let me know what you think.

Thanks for the comments. The ones inside were in a small room in their home recording studio. They had been to church and I think the boys were ready to play. I think that's why the ones with them in the leaves turned out so good, the boys were just being boys. My off camera flash didn't work as I had hoped it would. I have a Sigma 530 super flash and had it on a tripod off to the side, but it didn't do what I planned.

These are pictures from my first portrait shoot. All pictures were taken with a K200D, Pentax 18-55 kit lens, and Sigma 70-300. I don't have any studio lights, so all lighting was on camera and off camera flash with a Sigma 530 Super flash. Please let me have it on anything you see that I can improve on.

I forgot to mention, I did use flash with these also. That may have helped to alleviate the reflection.

I want to thank all of ya'll for your help. Here is a picture I took yesterday under the same harsh lighting conditions. Only with this one, I took off the UV filter. As you can see, there is no reflection, ghosting, flare or whatever you prefer to call it. I wish there was a way to change camera positions, but if the sun is shining, it's 360 degrees around the arena. I much prefer shooting the night rodeo, but I have to shoot them both so must make the best of the situation. Again, thanks for the help.
