If anyone wants one or two, just PM me! I had to do a design update and there's a color change, but they still work just the same. Let me know...

I know this is a *really* old thread, but I just found a zip-loc bag with some inside. If there is still anyone shooting with their Q (I do!) and needs/wants one, PM me. I hope everyone is doing well... perry

Not for me, but my brother who is using my "hand-me-down" bodies. The K7 is in good shape, for a K7, but the K10 is barley limping along. He could use this one. :-) Good luck everyone!

Spring shots with my Q S-1 and trusty 01 lens. I do still love my Q camera kit. I have the original Q and now the S-1. The Q must have the bad capacitor problem because it can never remember anything after a battery swap. So, the S-1. Great cameras! |

Anyone still looking for a mode dial for their K-01? I made a couple and posted some months ago but no takers. Today I found a couple I printed, wrapped in a paper towel. Sat them down and forgot about them. Any way, I don't know anyone with a K-01 to test them on, so I don't know if the index holes is the correct size or correctly located. If anyone is willing to test, let me know! |

All you K-01er's out there: I was contacted by pixelvandal about the lost mode dial issue because I had done some 3D printing for the Q. He wanted to know if a replacement is possible. I have modeled (image below) and test printed a replacement dial that looks pretty cool. Problem is I have no K-01 to test it on nor do I know anyone to test it on. While I could mail to pixelvandal for a test fit, but then we would have to keep mailing dials back & forth until it is correct. Is there anyone in the Salem/Albany Oregon area willing to do a test fitting? The problem is the pin to key the dial orientation. I don't know exact size and location. I have it pretty close, and perhaps good enough, but it needs a test fitting to be correct.

Glad they are working for you. (I knew they would.) :-) Super glue..... Never thought of that. It won't ruin the finish on the lens?

No problem, thanks for the bump! There are a few new interested folks about this. I'll run a small batch next week, the last week of February. I'll have a couple spares so should have some available up to this summer for sure. If you are interested, send me a PM. One note, due to postage increases the cost to make & ship is now $6.50 in the UA & $11.45 international. Let me know! (I can't live without mine on my 03 & 04!)

I have had the K3 for just over a year now and the grip was $230 at the time. Not an option after paying the premium of being an early adopter. I did the hack with a $30 aftermarket grip about 9 moths ago and no problems. It works, but with less than stellar quality build, I can easily tell the difference from the genuine grips I have had on my K-10 or K-7. Now seeing an aftermarket grip for $60~$70, that's not bad with no hacking needed. But I also noticed that B&H has the genuine BG-5 for $128. That's a no-brainer. I'm tempted to upgrade!

Hey, that's a good one I like it too!
I wish the focus selection was always on by default, then go to change modes after button push. Automatically back to focus selection when done. I was fine with the OK button to change modes though on my K-7. I didn't think that needed fixing. Oh, would have been nice to be able to use the D-BG4 grip too, No reason to change except their bank account.

I have an old Tamron 90mm/2.8 macro. It was just functional on my K-7. I have not mounted it on my K-3 until yesterday and WOW! It is like night and day, how fast it will focus on the K-3. I was thinking about dumping it but not now, I'm keeping it.

I'm sure this is getting to be old news, but I fitted a very cheap grip to my K-3 just to see how it would work and it is great. I did note a bit of play because of the #1, missing pin that had to be punched out. But also due to #2, the remaining pin being undersized. Having the high resolution 3D printing resources that I do, I decided to make a new pin and a shim and it is great! The sloppy old grip is now snug and tight as it should be. No more worries about moving grips. I must admit, I'm pretty happy with my <$40 eBay grip! |

Some have mentioned that the focus keeper works on the 04 wide and I too can now verify that to be true. I just picked one up off e-Bay and the first thing I did was fit one up. Perfect fit! I still have some focus keepers from the last batch available for those still thinking of procuring one.....

No reason it would not work, assuming a chip didn't get in the way. But a real expensive way to go.
This is still on my radar of things to do, but it is back burner for now. (I have an arduino windshield wiper control project I need to wrap up now.) If someone could help to find an exact pogo pin around 8 or 10mm long, flat on one end and round the other at the correct diameter, that would be great.

Still measuring and thinking about the project. I can find Ø.5mm pogo pins with rounded compression ends but finding one with a flat opposite end is not as easy in the length we want/need. If a supplier can be located.......
