Thanks, barondla. That first one was taken with my 55-300 plm which, with the KP, seems to be pretty good at action. I used afs, not afc, and pinned with center spot focus at 1/500th

The K-01 is the preferred beast for photomicrography--Live view is its way of life, and it is light on the microscope. And it makes terrific videos too! Found this guy in some stagnant water. The set up is as follows: K-01, lens removed; screw-mount adapter; Asahi Optical Microscope converter; trinocular microscope with dedicated camera port and adapter. This is at 100X, live mount

I was in Tanzania for 16 days in January, in one of three Land Cruisers doing Serengeti, Tarangire and Ngorongoro--I had my 55-300 on my K20D most of the time, and my 16-45 on my K-01. The concern about dust is real--so much dust in the crater that nothing outside of 100 yards was any good. The point about how close the animals often are is also well taken; elephants crossed in front and behind us, and a lioness tried to find shade one time under the land Cruiser. I shot a lot fully racked out on the 55-300, but about half my shots were closer in. Didn't use the 16-45 much, but I did switch lenses when the light was low, and the K-01 performed so well i traded the K20D for a K-30 recently.
Some shots attached.

Couldn't agree more, Issaac7. Mine's on order, and in YELLOW, just to make my point more emphatically--it is a great fit for ME. Which is exactly why i bought my K20D a while back. My major criterion was, how does it fit with what I own? Will it complement my stuff? Extend my stuff's usefulness? Compatibility with my lenses (10-17. 16-45, 18-55WR, 50FA, 55-300, plus Tamron 90MACRO), K-5-ish innards, and goodies like HDR and focus peaking make it irresistible...for ME. I honestly don't care how many others like it.
