Received the camera today...It only has a shutter count of 240 and looks as good as new. It fits my large hands like a glove. I have just fired a few shots around the house but really liking it so far. This thing can focus almost in complete darkness and never gives up like I am used to seeing with other cameras. I honestly have never had a camera like this with so many controls without going into menus. Got a lot to learn for sure...

I have always wanted a Pentax DSLR and honestly planned on getting the K3 deal at Adorama. I was browsing the web today and ran across an open box K5ii with the 18-135 WR lens at Crutchfield for $499 total. I pulled the trigger since I really wanted the 18-135 lens and it comes with a full warranty. Obviously the K3 will be improved but the K5ii is no slouch either based on the reviews I have read in the past. Cannot wait to try it out...

The price on this has dropped from $749 to $499 in less than 2 months. This looks like a good deal but the K3 deal from Adorama tempts me even more. I would rather have the 50mm lens than either of these in the Costco bundle.

Black Friday has been lame the past couple of years. No quality items like the K3 receive deals. It's a bunch of cheap generic junk that stores try to get rid of.

Very tempted to pull the trigger and add the 35mm lens. A lot of bang for the buck!

Picked the 50mm up at Adorama for $79 with my new K5iis as a combined discount. Best DSLR I have ever used...

No free grip and battery at adorama now. They removed them this morning.

I managed to get one with the accessory kit. It was still in my cart at the discounted price. Talk about an impulse buy...Never even thought about buying a GR...I had thought about the RX100 so that's on hold for now!

The previous sale with the 200.00 gift card was much better than this sale.

Good points. Plus you can add the 50mm for $116 and make it even a better deal.
Hunts says that the 50mm F1.8 is on special too but I cannot find it on the website.
They are both great deals. I would probably get the K-500 if the focus points were visible. WR is meaningless to me to be honest.

I was all set to get the adorama K-50 deal but this K-500 deal for 359 is killer. I know I do not need the WR as I shoot mostly inside. If only the focus points were visible...That's my main concern with the K-500. Can you still select the focus point manually?

I think the K50 looks a lot better than the K30. Not sure about the handling but I would choose the K50 based on the pictures in this thread.

This is a better deal than the Hunts one for the K30 with all the extras you get. Plus you can add the 50mm for only $116 more.

Good news! They are only charging tax on $849. It is different online, which is a good thing in this case. In the store, they always charge tax on the amount before the discount. Saves about $30 in my case...

This is incorrect. The original price is 1149 and this is the amount that Costco charges tax on. I shop there all the time and they charge tax on the original amount on all their coupons and discounts.

I still think I am going to pick up the K30 deal from Costco. The 18-135 would be nice but I really want the 35mm prime 2.4 for indoor shooting. I do a lot of that with my kids.

Costco is going to charge tax on 1149, which is over 100.00 where I am at. This makes it almost as high as the K5 adorama deal.

This looks like a good deal but the K5 is available at adorama for not much more with the same lenses. Tough call...

I actually own a Sony A57 as my main DSLR but could not resist trying the K-01 when buydig had the dual lens kit (18-55, 50-200) for 391 shipped. I know most want the 40mm lens and I do too but having both lens was too good to pass up. I am not concerned about the size.
The first thing I did was update the firmware. The AF is solid but definitely not up to the speed of a camera like Panasonic GX1. However, the image quality is totally superior. High ISO is great. WB is great. The image quality is great out of the box even in auto modes. Honestly, my favorite part about the camera is the fact that it uses the same lens as a Pentax DSLR. I never have liked the idea of carrying multiple lens for multiple systems (e.g. Sony Alpha and Sony Nex).
I am honestly thinking about selling my A57 and lens and going back to a Pentax DSLR now. I sold my K5 a few months back.
