I agree on all counts.
Straying slightly off topic, I used to joke that a good photographer could take a good picture with a broken bottom of a milk bottle sellotaped to the camera mount  I proved myself technically wrong on that claim :)
But for fun i made this image a couple of years ago. I cheated because there was a lens on the camera, but the picture was shot through a whiskey tumbler. I would not claim it good, but perhaps it is interesting :)

"00" indicates that the film has been rewound. If you replace the batteries mid roll the camera will try and advance the film as if a new film had just been loaded. This could mean the existing roll runs out and it rewinds. Open the camera in complete darkness and check if the film has rewound.

Adam
I notice when I click on the Film SLRs and Compact Film Cameras sub-forum it looks more like a photo gallery rather than a forum. There are thumbnails if the first post has an image attached, and a question mark if it does not.
Was this an intentional change or have I mucked up my settings

VAT varies country to country. In mainland Europe the average is 20-25%. In the UK it is 20%

Me too. Now is a perfect time for me to gloat once again at the bargain I got on my K-1 II + DFA 100/2.8 Macro. A steal at £1297 (equivalent today to EUR 1517 or USD 1647) :):):)

I also worked in a TV store in the late 1970's. Whenever the boss wanted to shift a certain model, he would tell us to dial down the contrast/colour in all the others :)

I could not disagree more. I had the first iteration of the 18-55 zoom when I started with digital in 2006.
Sure the lens was not sharp across the frame wide open, but closed down 2 stops it was a great performer, certainly a lot better than what Nikon or Canon were shipping as their "kit" lens.

SR is a great tool, but at 1/2 to 1/4 second you are chancing your luck.

You are correct, which is why anyone who shoots portraits avoids getting this problem.
Sir, with the best will in the world you want the impossible. I and others in this thread have tried to help, explaining the problems/drawbacks of PDAF and how to overcome them. I will leave this thread now for good.

Once a developer, always a developer
As a teenager I would put blankets up at my parent's kitchen windows, get the safe light on, trays out, chemicals mixed, and swear at anyone who opened the door.... Mum, Dad, brother, dog and even cat :lol:

The film camera knowledge on this forum is immense, especially with regards to specific chemicals.
I am very impressed.

This is probably your issue. Swap it back and report.
I doubt that is the case. I had no problem with stop-down metering with my *istDS, but the k10D was hopeless.

For a group shot at say 6 metres camera to subject, a +4 or -4 AF/FA is going to shift the focus point forwards/backwards by about 1 cm. Even at f1.4 you will have a DOF of 80cm. Pixel peeking your images at 100% view is irrelevant. https://www.dofmaster.com/dofjs.html |
