This kind of terrifies me, actually. I love my gear and had just decided to stick with Pentax vs leaping to Sony a7iv. This sort of feels like the last gasp to me, or the beginnings of a company moving in a direction I can’t semi-professionally go. :(. Think I better wait a bit for the dust to settle before doing anything rash though.

That 150-450 might stay a rental then! I agree, it seems very reasonable. I ended up purchasing the 24-70 for a great price and for 21 dollars more kept the hard case they shipped it in and they're sending me the original box and documentation. Very friendly staff as well.

Any Pentax shooters "attending" Professional Photographer's of America's Imaging USA right now? IF you're not, and would like to, it's entirely online and costs only $59.00 with a ton of informative classes and other stuff. You will be able to view them until the end of the month too (so you can watch all of yesterday's too)! Just a friendly PSA for some great instructional and fun times for an amazing price!
imagingusa.org if you're interested!

Went to shoot sunrise over the river the other morning and the clouds did not cooperate at all, so I headed to the beach to get a walk in, at least, and found my sky! 1/400 @ f5.6, ISO200 with my 28-105.

I realize you're waiting for the as-yet-unnamed APS-C to come out before making your decision, but I would like to throw in my thoughts as an owner of a K-1 and KP. These are two completely different cameras. For pure image quality, low light detail, low noise, GPS, the K-1 is the clear winner. For a fun, small, feature-packed camera, that is barely noticeable and incredibly light, the KP takes the cake (don't get me wrong here though, it's images and dynamic range are very impressive for an APS-C). My KP sits in my camera bag as a backup now because I always want that extra ISO, that extra light, and those extra pixels. It's worth the weight for me (though having to rebuild my lens collection for FF is a bummer, financially). Either one of those cameras are awesome, and you'd be stoked to have them, I'm sure. A used KP can be found on here now and then for insanely low prices.

A couple shots from near where this river in Central Oregon comes out of the ground! Curious about which you prefer, and why. I gotta'
say I'm in love with this K-1 and the 28-105!!!

This was the "Heritage Flight" of the most advanced fighter of World War 2 and the most advanced fighter of today. It was very moving. I had to crop in a bit.

28-105 @ 68mm; ISO 200; F8 @ 1/250 - Do you see the hidden fellow?
My first real chance to actually shoot with my new K-1! This is a super (about 30 seconds) fast edit because I want to get it up here! I have been a Pentax fan for about 24 years but this is the best camera I've ever held, bar-none. :)

First week I had my KP!! Stoked to get down to an astronomically low-tide and catch a series of this starfish eating the poor molusc!

I grabbed this shot of Moosey the Moose on our return trip from Banff. We went out in the early morning to photograph the Bald Eagles fishing over Lake Coeur d'Alene and he seemed to be deep in thought...

Thanks! Funny you mention that. I tried slowing the shutter speed to get some rotor blur but at that range with the heavy 100-300 F4 it just wasn't happening :) ---------- Post added 05-31-19 at 08:28 AM ----------
Thanks! Much appreciated.

This swimmer and ski had just finished rescuing two surfers who were caught in a rip and had traveled over a mile from the beach they were on. Kind of bummed the file size is limited to 1280.

Funny, I prefer the B/W! I like the contrast in the rows, particularly. Nice leading lines.
