This looks like the Buick GNX of DSLRs. Love it! Similar to the GNX, though, many won't "get it".

So, you're saying it's just like Pentax's presence, then. :)

You could switch to a film body and avoid the rear screen altogether. Huge battery saver that won't interrupt your workflow.

I vote for the new full-framer to be called F-U, for all those who doubted it would ever come out. ---------- Post added 11-05-2015 at 09:49 PM ---------- ...or better yet, aimed at Canon, Nikon, and Sony...

I hope the rubber texture on the right grip of the production model is not smooth like this one appears.

I've owned numerous K10D cameras and now have a K-r. There's no comparison...the K-r is hands down the better camera in all areas except gripability (especially when the battery grip is on the K10D.

Somebody please tell me why, after all this time, Pentax insists on outfitting cameras selling for $1000+ with a clear, push-on body cap that falls off almost immediately after using the first time.
Also, why are the kit and entry 50mm lenses given a different, black push-on rear lens cap that shreds little plastic shavings each time it's pushed on and pulled off?
Instead of a $0.10 cost per cap, we're talking $0.05 per cap, maybe?
Let's hope Ricoh has this on their list of no-brainer, low cost enhancements.
Or, maybe I'm being too picky?
