Sure. I would not suggest that what they did was necessarily illegal. In fact, if they wanted to retract a special offer, perhaps setting it up as a rebate leaves them the option to thereafter raise the base price, effectively circumventing the rebate offer, and perhaps without violating any laws.

I would submit, however, that this is not the way a customer expects or wants to be treated.

Not true! I had it in my cart at $1299, as above, but waited to buy because they advertised (in my understanding) that the price was valid until April 2nd!

Thanks to those of you who redirected to Amazon!

I had the camera in my shopping cart from B and H last night, at $1299, and when I checked in today to pull the trigger, they had raised the price to $1399. Agree that it is not a friendly practice to offer a discount with an expiration date, and to raise the price before that!

The 31 limited is superb on full frame film - absolutely superb. That is, after all, what it was made for.

FA 43 or Tamron 28-75?

Can't speak for the zoom, but the 43 is a fantastic lens for walking around, particularly for shots of people you know. The odd focal length is just long enough to get a little intimacy without having to step back away from your subjects. This was my first digital SLR lens and I would never give it up. In fact, I just bought a second one after dropping my first.

Personally, I prefer using a prime for some hard-to-define sense of 'seeing' the frame.

KEH.com Scam or Not?

KEH has a generally good reputation online, and I was thus encouraged to buy from them.

I had two mediocre experiences with cameras listed as EXcellent or EXcellent +, and one poor experience with a camera listed as EXcellent +, which turned out to have a light leak which rendered it useless. Unfortunately, trusting their reputation, I did not test the camera until well after their return policy would allow me to send it back to them.

I did, however, send a polite email requesting advice, noting that they have a repair service. While they never replied, they do continue to spam me with advertising.

I'll not buy anything from them again.
