Check the menu option 'Use Aperture Ring' and see if 'Prohibited' is checked. If you want to use the aperture ring on the lens, check the "Permitted" option. When using Permitted, you won't be able to control the aperture automatically. This is what is throwing the error at you...
When using 'Prohibited', the aperture is set by rolling the rear wheel on the body, but the lens must be set to "A" on the aperture ring.

Hi All,
I bought a k10d body from KEH, and it did not come with the PENTAX PHOTO Browser 3 and PENTAX PHOTO Laboratory 3 software CD.
Yes, I am aware that the UPDATES can be downloaded from most any Pentax site, but where can I find the actual program?
Can somebody upload the full version to an FTP for retrieval?
