Judging by what you have (quite impressive!!) if I were you I might think about maybe the wife or your car, or how about your first-born???

I am putting together my Christmas Wish List and I would like a 62mm Circular Polarizing Filter. Pricing ranges from $6.95 to over $130. I KNOW you get what you paid for, but really??? I know that some have "photographic glass' whereas others do not but I am not a professional and I am just looking for something that works. Can those of you using CPF give me some hints why you chose the one you have?

This sounds too obvious, but....have you checked to make sure there is not a CD/DVD in the drive?? If you have Boot From CD/DVD enabled in the BIOS and have a non-bootable disk in the drive, it will pop this error.

I have not ever used Aperture--never used an Apple ANYthing--but I have used Photoshop Elements for years and it does nearly EVERYthing I would need to do. It is about the same price as you are quoting for Aperture, but I have heard it is a bit more full-featured. The nice thing about Elements is that it is the same command set as CS-#. If you ever DO decide to move to the big-brother, you will not have to re-learn the command structures.
Ka-Ching...my 2 cents expired.

Several of these are known to be "creatively edited" shots...but very entertaining nonetheless! Thanks!!

Depends. (Doesn't it always???!!!) If you are wanting to shoot birds, animals, etc it would probably be better to take the telephoto zoom. If you are looking at nature shots of trees, flowers, plants, ponds, and streams, etc. then I would want the wide angle. Look at it this way--if you take the wide angle you will see the most beautiful 12 point buck you have ever imagined at about 150 yards away!

Personally, I always like my verticals to be parallel to the sides of the photo. In your shot, (particularly the first of the two) both the left and right side seem to tilt inward.

It's true!! Unlike Palin and Bachman, Hilary (sic) has already proven herself to be of corrupt moral character even before getting into politics...yup...IMMINENTLY more capable!

I would think it is because the CCP is a more arduous process and requires a greater burden of proof. The point is, Gene, that you can't use any other ID issued by the state. Students are often NOT residents of the state where they are attending school. They incur out-of-state tuition charges and are allowed to drive cars with plates from other states. As I understand the proposal, no one is attempting to say students are not allowed to vote. They are only attempting to make sure there is no voter fraud. I have lived in 7 states and establishing residency (and voting rights) has always been a VERY easy process.

You make it sound so "one-sided" Nesster. Personally. I don't see it that way at all. It doesn't seem to be liberal vs. conservative; nor does it seem to be democrat vs. republican. It seems more that people are simply opposed to those who do not readily agree with them. Consequently, they take the first opportunity to "fire a shot". Liberals seem to be equally morally bankrupt as conservatives; and democrats as much as republicans.

I disagree with abmj. Shoot RAW+JPG now! Even if you do not want to get into serious post-processing right now, you may get a shot that you will REALLY want to later, and it would be better to have that shot in RAW for future reference. SD cards are cheap (in comparison to film and processing!) and readily available. Hard drive space is cheap too, and you can always delete those you know you will not want.

You don't believe in God...but you turn to "spirituality" at times like these. How's that working out for ya? My thoughts turn to Mike Cash also, but how about if we express those thoughts in a manner that might do a bit more good??? We could do that like this: Hey Mike, (and any others affected by this horrific tragedy) seeing what is going on in Japan, how could we best, as a group of concerned friends, assist you in the midst of this tragedy?

So if we extend that logic out a bit we should probably just allow ANYONE showing up at the poll a ballot??? Requiring voter registration probably ALSO disproportionately affects the poor, and minorities, and undereducated. We probably ought to do away with that too, right? They don't need to "regularly" carry it, Gene. They just have to carry it to the polling place when they want to vote. But I do agree with your question, "Why exempt old people?" In my opinion, any requirements should be across the board and equal for ALL.
