which was my first post, which eluded to my having never having considered pentax, but having been pulled into 'the thread' & being glad that I did, & that I was introducing myself & in the even that I were to switch that I even had done the research & had a lens line up saved on my desktop.

people actually use the manufacturers strap :hmm:
Who ever buys my 30D is outta luck, I never used it, I thought I threw it in the box... never opened it, dunno where it is... they are not getting my strap, custom made just for me :D I will be pretty on the K-7 ;)

oh I was talking about when you had the wonky 5DmkII image up w/ the monsterized K-7 infront of it ;) or miniaturized 5DmkII, whichever way you want to look at it... but by the time I got an appropriate link all up n junk n stuff, and posted, & I was going back to it... you had taken it down :p

dopeytree, that's a nice effort, but its clear that your proportions are out of wack :confused: NOT to say mine are 'spot on' I'm no professional... Although I HAVE slept in a Holiday Inn ;)
EDIT: hmm you've since deleted you're comparison ;)
As far as the 5DMKII goes... I dont know how much bigger the 50D is than the 30D... but Canon EOS 5D Mark II and EF 24mm f1.4L II USM lens launch to me they dont look much different in size. I know the 50D is shorter than the 40D. *shrug*
I dont feel the need to do anymore really... *I* & Canon folk, know the size based on a 30D & any Canon Camera compared to it, Pentax folk see it compared to the K20D all is joyous...
oh & 1 Day 15 Hours 8 Minutes... could you just PUKE! :)

I know for my own purposes I sized it up... I'm 100% certain that my 30D will be sold after I buy a K-7 for myself :D of course... I had to see what kind of size shock I am IN for I sized it up in photoshop, this does you all little good, & I only did this for myself but I'll put it up on here anyway, what I came up with in the difference in size between my 30D & the K-7

:hmm: I dont need no steenking manual... of course my 20D & 30D didnt do anything I didnt already know how to do... a camera that comes with 'new features' ... yes I can read. Crazy aint it ;)

again... weeks ago... I dont even know how I ended up here ;) I dont know the features of any of your cameras, I only 100% in and out about my own fan brand :p
from what I knew Pentax was a brand w/ noisy cameras that plays catch up w/ their cameras :eek: *hide*
This was my Pentax knowledge ;)
I've since in the past weeks when it was the 'possibility' that I could 'make the switch' that I did lens research... it has changed a few times... I believe I have my final lens lineup ;)
Now I Continue more learning about Pentax to occupy myself until the K-7 release. I'm a gal who likes to 'know things' :D

as far as cameras now having the ability to ( well I dont know what pentax calls it ) but with canon its 'micro adjust' I think its a FANTASTIC feature... adjust your lens + or - a little so you do NOT have to be w/o your lens for any unnecessary amount of time... & hey if you have down time, by all means before that warranty is up have that sucker calibrated, both the camera and the lens, but let me tell you, I'm betting its still going to need to be adjusted a tad to be perfect... with this feature our photos can be at their best.
Having a camera that doesnt have this feature, I for one cannot WAIT to have 'micro adjust'

Could be... I'm hoping I just love it so much because I'm so used to it from my 20D & 30D... I've helped my parents with their Nikon... & its cacafied menusystem and button frenzy... :hmm:
I could get over it I'm sure... its performance at low light, high iso that I'm interested in...
the camera can Pink with Green Polka dots with fluffy bunnies sticking out the sides for all I care... so long as it performs...
k... well maybe that's extreme... that would be tough on the street photog crowd ;)

Being an 'outsider' I am unaware of what joys of this addictive little green button. Please do fill me in :D
Ya... my only mild hesitation on any part is my large attachment to the wheel on the back of the 30D, IMO far superior to several buttons.

This is what I hope for 
Swivel Screen was my favorite part of my P&S Canon S2 IS & S5 IS, for doing over the head, to the side or any other wicked away from the eye shooting I could muster, plus the ability to close the LCD was nice.
But... I'm on the wagon that believes this feature isnt necessary for dslr's... being someone who does not have liveview.... its a feature I'd never see using, so a swivel screen on my dslr ... no thanks & indeed definitely I can see how that would be a weak spot on a weather proof camera.
Agreed, this is every where, people will actually start threads begging people to 'talk them' out of selling their equipment & buying X brand... :ugh: really if *you* feel that X brand is going to make you a better photographer... good for you, you are still doing what you love, *photography* no company is going to 'make or break' or send you a goodbye or 'welcome' card for leaving or joining their 'club'... its all what 'works for you'...
Give a crappy photographer the best camera money can buy they'll yield crappy photos and ask what is wrong with the camera... :hmm:
Good photographers can make any camera shine.
thank you for the welcome... I'm known amongst everyone I know as the Canon fangirl... infact... any brand of anything I use, I'm quite passionate about it and will recommend it, downtalk my own parents choice of brand, I really am a product pusher... heck... I started using Green Works Cleaner & now all my family and friends do too :lol: ...
If I were to make a change I dont think my family would know what to do :confused: LOL! I of course would convince them that it was the best choice and wow them with my already wickid photography so sharp and crisp it makes their eyes bleed! :eek:
OMG! LOL!!!! picturing someone pushing buttons on a camera with their nose... priceless... Indeed... that is one talented nose.

Oh for christsake... this eye buisness :hmm: clearly I've never used a Pentax, so I dont know how what 'eyed' you are impedes you ability to use a camera .... minority complex... my goodness... there was a poll on POTN... a majority including myself are left eyed actually Are you Left-Eyed, or Right-Eyed? - Canon Digital Photography Forums according to those that responded... maybe it doesnt matter because our cameras are bigger... only uncomfortable camera I've ever used was an xsi I used for 3 days & sold right away, after I sold my 20D & I sold that cheap small plastic toy... was it uncomfortable because of my eye?????

no it felt like crap & it was junk.
