I've had a DP2 for aout a month, and despite its quirks I absolutely love it: as you say there's something in how the Foveon sensor renders images which I have not found in my other cameras. If only it had a real rangefinder instead of AF; it would be one of the best cameras ever made.
And I have to say I also like SPP very much: it's easy to use, wb controls are accurate, and the x3f fill light function is magical.
I posted a quick comparison a while ago against my Kx at mflenses.com. In fact, I just sold my Kx and will probably start looking for an SD14 or SD15. :)

Ok, I solved my issues and can now get the bellows if you still don't mind to sell them separately. Send me a PM in case and we can sort it out.

I'm only interested in the bellows, would it be possible for you to sell them separately?

It's funny, because a couple of weeks ago I finally sold my 5D, and bought a K-x. And I'm really happy with it.
True, the 5D has a great sensor and in the right conditions will deliver photos with a certain "something", but I could not stand its bulk, size, awful controls and poor wb anymore. And after only a few days with the K-x, I am pleasantly surprised by its great handling and especially the rich colours it produces. I don't think I'll regret my 5D.
A caveat: I could not care less about AF performance, as I only shoot manual lenses.

Wide open at 22? It should be the other way around...

I use pure acetone too, and if you keep it away from plastic and painted surfaces, it's very good at cleaning lenses. It was suggested to me by a manufacturer of optical components used in laser applications, when I bought a beamsplitter mirror from them to repair an old rangefinder camera.

Ulrich, I had the stock 0.45 / 0.10. The settings you mention improve things a bit, but what ufraw shows is still noticeably darker compared to other raw developers.

The same thing happens with my *istD raw files, which as far as I know has none of the menu settings mentioned here.

I bought a 55mm 1.4 Takumar from them, and when I got it a couple of days ago I noticed a large, deep scratch on the back element. I don't think a reputable seller should list a product with such an obvious, serious flaw, and if they do they should clearly state it.
I asked for a return and inquired about their procedures, and only got a generic email saying "ship it back to us". No mention of shipping expenses, no "excuse us for sending you a botched lens", nothing.
I'm shipping the lens back tomorrow, and I am curious as to how much they are going to refund. If it's not enough I will file a claim with my credit card company.

I got my Flektogon 35mm a while ago but only took it out shooting last weekend on my *istD, and I have to say I'm really liking it. A couple of shots, both I seem to remember wide open at f2.4

Hoya HMC 80-205mm f3.9, shot at 205mm f3.9 on my *istD. I am really loving this cheap zoom, especially its color rendition and smooth bokeh. |

If it's still for sale, and you don't mind shipping to Italy, I might be interested in it.

Thanks for the reply. It' snothing special then, only the added convenience of the A contacts. But for the price I paid, I guess it's ok.

I just bought a Vivitar 28mm 2.8 I found for 20 euros in a store on my way to the office, and I'm trying to find out what version it is and who made it. It's in PKA mount, on the lens beauty ring it has no serial no. but only the words "Vivitar 28mm 1:2.8 mc wide angle 49mm", while the serial no, is on the side of the aperture ring: PK-A/PK97010198. Some Viv lists say that numbers starting with 9 are Cosina made, others that 9 is a special number, and the small list of 28s on the vivitar Bestiary says that number starting with 9 are Tokina made. Any ideas on what I got?

Maybe it's already been discussed in the past, but a very useful feature that I'm missing on this forum is a global "new posts" page, that shows all new posts in all forums since the last login. Many forums have it (eg rff, apug, etc.) and for me it's the best way to keep up with new content even in forums I don't visit often.

Got a used *istD a couple of weeks ago, and the 50mm 1.7 was the first lens I got for it. And I'm liking it quite a lot. Shot at 1.7, 1600 asa, 1/90. |
