Hi everyone:
I just got my Pentax in February and have been trying to learn all about it as it is my first SLR camera since the old days of film... I guess I hated to spend money getting my failures developed, so I just never took that many pictures until I got involved with digital cameras. I decided that after joining a camera club at my church, that I wanted to be able to do more with my camera, and thus became a Pentax owner. I have had a lot of fun learning.... and for a former school librarian, this just fits in with my past. I have enjoyed trying to get off the set camera options although I have been disappointed when trying to get shots of something I really want.... For example, we live in the country and the last two nights (one dusk and the other a little later) we had a deer in our garden, and my pictures turned out too dark.. I was just too excited to have a deer that close, and the other picture was a picture of our dog nose to nose with a skunk.... I was yelling at the dog to get away and trying to get a picture.... I did get a picture AFTER the skunk was on its way across the road... and the dog was running back... just so you know we were lucky, the tail stayed down ... whew... so as you can see, I have a lot to learn about surprise pictures opportunities :D
