Dust on Sensor.

My K5II stays way cleaner than my K10D ever did. I guess the guys at "Pentax design" figured out the right way to do sensor shake and the right coatings to use.

But isn't the "creamy out of focus look" more a function of the lens and aperture blades than the camera?

Yes, Kodachrome died completely several years ago with the closure of the last processor. The Kodachrome look has ended with the discontinuation of the CCD sensor. We're lucky that that Pentax built the K10D's so well and that we will be able to retain that look for a while.

Agreed! Keep em coming.

I've always wanted to go out and shoot the "Classic" American farm. (well for many years anyway). However, living in the greater New York megalopolis with most of my travels being between Boston and Washington (or really far flung), it's a hard topic to find time to persue.

That's partially correct. You need to be comfortable so you can be steady. If you're comfortable with your right elbow sticking up, then so be it.

Very Impressive, especially for a "(newbie still learning)"!

The click to see larger isn't working for me either (but I'm still on XP)

If anyone doesn't know about these books, YOU SHOULD !!
I bought the Printed copy of the K10D book when I bought the camera. A wonderful way to learn the difference between Film cameras and DSLR's. Especially with the recommended settings that were included in that book.
Then I bought the K100D ebook to help my wife learn her K200D camera. Not exact but still a big help.
Last year when I bought my K5ii, I also bought the ebook and still refer too it on a semi regular basis.
Great books written by a fellow Pentaxian for us and about our cameras.
Highly recommended!!

I think you've got the jist of it.
All purple fringing is Chromatic Aberation, but all CA is not Purple Fringing.

P.S. Not really meant to sound like I think I'm an expert.

Wonderful shot. When viewed in conjunction with the shot above it (thanks ERDS), My eye convinced my brain that I was looking down from above (hence the flying saucer). Now that I see it's a view upwards, I still love the perspective.

OK, the 4th shot has me baffled! The one after the cathedral and before the rushing train. It has me thinking about being on the top of a flying saucer. Truly nice perspective distortion. What is it?

Now that is truly realistic, but is missing so much interseting detail from street level.

The HDR processing truly helps this situation.

I can appreciate your viewpoint, but honestly, I've been to Philadelphia many times and actually been on the roofs of about seven buildings in the picture (I used to work for a company that manufactures, installs and services permanently installed window washing scaffolds). I firmly believe that most of the colors are very close to natural and the only real unnatural aspect is the changes caused by the HDR processing without which the street level would be very heavily shaded. I say excellent job.

SD Card is stuck in my K-5 IIs. Help!

Alexcam's method is the normal way for me, but occasionally the card still stays too close in for my stubby little fingers to grab it. I have found that there is a bit of a raised lip on one side of the sd card that allows me to coax the card out with a finger nail. Works every time (so far).

Were both of your shots taken on foggy days? The focus looks off on both as well.

It's simple. Go out and shoot portrait orientation for a week. No matter how good you are at bending your wrist to hold the camera vertical, the grip will sell itself to you based on comfort (and the number of shots you can get without changing batteries).
P.S. even with a small lens like my beloved DA21 Ltd.
