Thanks for the compliments....as far as the dust spots the wind was blowing hard at White Sands and the sand/gypsum was all over my camera and I. The spots were hard to keep off and I'm not the best post processor in the world. Yes I used a CPL.

I ventured out to the Panhandle to look at some land I bought that I had never seen before....I kept driving in to New Mexico and these are the photo's I took.

The snobbery I always get is...
"Why in the hell would you use a manual focus lens? "
"How is a manual focus lens usable in a real world application?"
"Why in the hell do you use Pentax? Most Pros use CaNikon!"
The ignorance is insane!
New and $$$ does not always equal better.
I guess some of these people think the first SLR's were AUTOFOCUS.
Most " pro " photog's I know are book photographers. They try and tell me how to do everything they learned out of a book or blog, but not real world testing.
My Pentax gets ragged on daily...but I oh so love it when my friends are wanting that Nikon/Canon 200m prime or 85mm prime..or fast fifty......I like pulling all that out and saying these?
I hate brand snobs. There is nothing wrong with being a brand loyalist cause I am that...but I can see the pros and cons in every brand.
These same guys who shoot D300's/D700's delete a million pictures a minute cause exposure/focus/wb was off.....I've tried to get these guys to come out and shoot film with me I'll use my Spotmatic and give you the upper hand with my MZ-S, or SF-1 etc... only stipulation: Shoot in AV mode or Manual mode.....I have yet to have one accept my offer.
Most Photo snobs are Gear heads and not photographers: One who practices photography. I wish there was a definition for what they do... it would say
"Gum flappers"

I want a flash with a serious amount of power.
I went out shooting in near pitch black with my AF360 and it was a joke compared to my friend Nikon SB800.
So....what's the biggest baddest flash I can buy?

Shadow was intended for some character in the pic... so the sax wouldn't be all alone...well except for the piece of trim and the wall outlet :)
