I would think all they would need would is a dial labeled for particular shutter speeds to be recognized by outsiders as “retro”?

I've gone back and forth about that in my head...
I think I've finally settled on full frame not really mattering all that much in terms of overall image quality in this application.
It does need a "large" sensor, but I think APS-C is sufficient for what the GR really is.
That said, I don't think it would be a horrible thing if it was made into a full frame camera of the same size (which would be challenging); I just don't see it as essential.

Understood. I wasn't certain if the limitation was the OS and available programs, or the hardware capabilities (limited memory and processing speed) of a Chromebook.

Making a firm commitment to buy a thing, before you've got any real idea what that thing actually is, seems like a case of more money than sense.

I use the cable all of the time unless I’m traveling and have to use wifi or card reader. I think it is much easier to use a cable, but everybody has their own opinion.

I know, but thanks to affinity's lack of it, I discovered iMatch, and now I use it at 10% of its potential and I'm already more than happy with it, I really recommend it, much better than ligthroom dam and even windows explorer IMO.

Thanks, and you are welcome.
I obtained my copy of this lens as part of a collection of film bodies and lenses I purchased. After trying it out, it became one of my go-to lenses when I am out for a photowalk. I only wish it was WR.

This is a great lens on the K-1 or APS-C. I encourage anyone in need of a walk-around lens to give it a try.
Here are some images to show how well it does.

I own the 58 AF-2 and 52 AF-2 Metz flashes and they work extremely well with ALL Pentax DSLRs. The flash has updatable firmware via USB. All modes including off camera, P-TLL, second curtain sync, TTL on film bodies etc. work perfectly. They are super well built units and have a much better battery door design than the Pentax AF540 FTZ or 540 FTZ II.

I think I'm going to go with this one as well. If there's one lens going with me on my K3, it's probably this one.

24mm is one of my favorite focal lengths - I've been through quite a few of them to find ones that sing to me.....
Sigma Super Wide 24/2.8 - both the MF and the AF versions - both are solid lenses, but too many aberrations/flare for me....
Vivitar Komine/Kino-built 24's, which include the OP's RL edition - solid lenses, but still too many aberrations for me...
Pentax SMC/M/A 24/2.8 - amazing jewels; I have the A version currently and it is spectacular all around....
Tamron Adaptall-2 01B/BB 24/2.5 - love these well-built lenses, great colors and nice bokeh - and cheap!
Sigma EX DG 24/1.4 - monstrous lens, amazing color, but truly an unwieldy lens...
if you're willing to move out just one millimeter, my current favorite is the Zeiss Distagon 25/2.8 ZK T* - not cheap and not easy to find, but close-focusing and just stupendous IQ....
there are tons more on other mounts, these are my experiences with k-mount.....

This is a great Macro lens. If I don't have this lens on my camera I have the Fa* 300 on it. It is sharp and easy to use. Whoever gets it will be happy I am sure.

I managed to rent a K-1 Mark II !
I've begun making an overview video, but there will be two 'sidecar' videos.
1) iOS connection and 2) how to use vintage lenses, then 3) the entire overview video!
Please take a look at the first of the series below: You Tube |

The longest I've done with the LX is about 25 minutes with FP4+, but as far as I'm aware it basically keeps going until the battery runs out... |

The FA35 is a very good lens. Best in class for a long while. The FA50 is less special.

I think the interesting thing to me is the question of whether this could be a way forward for the FA limiteds. The big Achilles heel for those lenses is purple fringing and the addition of HD coatings didn't seem to do much for them. I think that if they could keep the FA limiteds a similar size to what they are and fix PF and add sealing, they would be pretty appealing going forward, even if they kept the screw drive.

I imagine the fa ltds are to "sacred" to mess with . A new line of DFA ltds is more likely imho. The idea that it's even possible to tweak formulas with special glass is controversial or impossible according to some.
HD was never supposed to fix purple fringing wasn't that just some of rumour? Interestingly the greatness of Pentax coatings may worsen the effect. Also the Pentax sensor treatment is a bit pf sensitive according to someone doing side by sides with same lens on Sony body.

If it has a focus motor I am very interested. I guess I need to just wait and see what they do.
Lots of speculation here but only a few lines of facts.
