Well its said and done. My pentax K3 will be on its way shortly along with a DA 50mm f/1.8 and a battery grip! I'm excited to see the improvements over my beat k5 that still gets the job done...

My main lens is of course a 10-20mm sigma f/4-5.6. And that's the only one I have for shooting real estate haven't really had a need for anything else. But I do have some 50's and other random stuff that would work. But I would have to get a new lens for work ---------- Post added 11-05-2015 at 11:19 AM ---------- A lot of the properties I shoot range from 800sqft, to 6000sqft so yes 10mm or 15mm on a full frame is needed because realtors love to mislead people to think a room is bigger then it actually is. But I just don't see why I would benefit from full frame? I cropped sensors have come so far..... But maybe I'll get the k3 and sell when the full frame Pentax comes out

But that also means selling off my Pentax to go with nikon probably. Which I'm not to fond of the idea.... And for the price difference it's even harder for me to justify it because my shots have been comparable to fullframe

Thank you all for your input, since ice had my son that's now 1year old I've only been out shooting a hand full of times for pleasure. On the other hand I've had between 1-6 shoots a month since doing real estate. My k5 lately when I bracket for hdr processing has been randomly firing continually when I'm just trying to do 3 shoot bracketing. It will take 4-10 shots before stopping and it seems like it's getting worse not to mention the autofocus is an issue in low light sometimes.
A 645z is out of the question and really I'd have no use for it.Lol
Has anyone had experience with the k3 for real estate? I'm tempted to go full frame at times but I though typically you can get a wider angle from a cropped sensor?

Hello everyone,
Its been a long time since I've posted on here. Since about a year ago I've been shooting real estate professionally and my trusty k5 has been a pleasure to work with besides the low light auto focus and now a slight issue with run away shutter when bracketing. My question is when is it time to throw in the towel and sell my k5 for $2-- hopefully and upgrade to a k3? Whats your guys opinions? I also shoot with a drone and it might be time to upgrade for that as well....

The k100d super was my first dslr which is still being used by my brother today. Once I got the Sanyo enloop rechargeable batteries the annoyingness of the AA batteries when away. I miss the camera and steal it from time to time just to hear the amazing sound of the shutter and to still remember how good it was.

I prefer nut bars anyways lol. Still playing with the k5 getting use to all the controls, never thought a camera could be so customizable, the button are al little small for my liking but the camera makes up for it in every other aspect. Pentax has always excelled in making there cameras feel like tanks and this is the mother ship!

Back in 2008 I got my first dslr, it was a k100d super and that started my love for Pentax and enjoying photography as a hobby. I went from the k100d to the k200d to the k-x and 645 and 67 and after those I sold all the gear to get into a different hobby.
I started to get back into photography a year ago by getting a Nikon D80 and it was a great camera in its day but it didn't ever have the feel or fire in it that I had always felt with the Pentax gear. Well with having my first baby coming in November and getting my real estate license I figured it was time to upgrade and get back into the world of Pentax.
So I talked to the misses about it and she approved, so I posted the Nikon and lens on eBay and started my hunt for a k-7 and come to find out the k-5's are going for what the k-7's where a year ago. I found a very well priced k5 and the seller was nice enough to get it out the next day so, my next day off I had I drove down to the local camera shop I go to and picked up a M 50mm f/1.4 and a FA 50mm f/2.8 macro for about 225$ for both:D ! I'm in shock again with how amazing the camera and lenses are, I feel like I did when I first started shooting, the DOA on the 50 f/1.4 is amazing and the 1:1 on the FA is the best macro lens I've used by far and both I can't wait to try out on my son when he decides to pop out. Ill try and post some photos later tonight to show what I'm talking about.

okay I see. I got the 6x7 today and I must say its a amazing piece of engineering. The meter is acting a little funky but I am going to take it to a local shop and see if its a quick fix or not.
and as for having the two systems I really like the 645 much more it fits in the hands great, the and also the one that I have has been taken care of very well in the past, but well see I may end up selling my digital gear two fund for more lenses:eek:

For the past 5 months or so Ive been shooting a 645, and I finally was able to pick up a 6x7 for a really good price with a 105mm and a 135mm macro. My question is will I see much change with my photos? I love printing larger and that's why I moved to a 645, but Ive also heard that the 67's are harder to get a good shot with shooting under 1/125 why is that? I mean I understand its kind of low but ive gotten some useable shots with my 645 at 1/15 hand held.

yes only b&w, I'm taking film class and I will be developing this in the film class. we are going to develop color :/. But I really like having higher quality larger prints and thats why I switched, because 35mm as all of you know when you print larger the quality is lost with 35mm and before anyone had replied I had gotten 6 rolls of tri x 400 as well as a roll of tmax 100
