It would make sense that it would just turn off the rear screen so it's not in while looking thru the viewfinder

I do use Pentax for astrophotography. Used to use the K5 IIs, now I use the K3 and K1.

Always nice to see new products, I've been wanting a Theta, but can't justify it for the amount I would use it. It certainly would be fun to have thou.

Thanks for sharing, I haven't seen this one yet. was a interesting to see they look like they will be making a series based around the subject. ---------- Post added 11-14-19 at 02:35 PM ----------
A red enhancing filter would not help in this case as the red that HA Nebula's glow at are on the border of the light transmission of the filter placed over the sensor. You can certainly use a ha filter but if the sensor is only seeing 15% of the light it's receiving exposures will be 4x longer and often with more noise. If the sensor is modded to allow the light to reach the sensor at 80-90% pass thru the signal to noise ratio is way way better.

It's too bad because other brands do offer adjusting at multiple points with the same lens.
To answer the original question of the op, the only way you could "double stack" adjustments is with say a Sigma or Tamron lens and using their branded docks. You could then adjust the lens individually and then again while on the camera body thru the camera itself.
At least I'm pretty sure that would work

I won't be selling my k-1, but I'm glad that Ricoh/Pentax is coming out with a new flagship with new features. Those features I'm hoping trickles into the next FF model

Your not doing yourself any favours by using a lens with a Mac aperture of 3.5. for long exposures with tracking is fine but I think you would get more out of a rokinon 14 f2.8 or something.

I'd say they are even more popular with telescopes like refractors, as a simple dew shield isn't always enough to prevent dew. Comes down to climate and where you live and image I suppose and how humid it is. ---------- Post added 10-23-18 at 10:23 AM ---------- You would hope that no matter which lens, if they add a defog option, that they make the lens to have low coma and astigmatism

The quick answer is attaching the camera body to a telescope which act as the lens. A motorized tripod is required to follow the night sky so you can image the object over selected time period. In this case 3 hrs, which is the longest I've imaged one object. I usually try and get a minimum 1 hr but my technique is slowly getting better on setting up tracking and polar alignment ect ect.
Last night I restacked the same image data 6 times using more exposures each time to show the benefits of taking multiple images for astrophotography and stacking them. I'm not at home now so I can't resize it do I'll just link to it and not post the large image here and screw up the forums layout, http://stevenkovickart.com/astro/why_stack.jpg |

FA has the 15-30. 11-18 is basically a 16-27 which makes it the 15-30 for crop sensors.
