Thank You gabriel_bc. yes, this is a manual focus lens. The only reason that I'm selling this is becasue I am selling off ALL of my Pentax DSLR stuff. I just haven;t been using it much in the past few years and I'm cleaning out some closets.

Nice, fast zoom- always used with a filter and a hood! I only put 1,756 shutter actions on my camera, so nothing was used much at all and this lens was always stored carefully. Selling off everything- just didn't use any of it THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG WITH THIS LENS. I'm simply selling off my Pentax gear becasue I hardly ever used it (which is why my K-5 that just sold here had a shutter count of 1,700)FILTER NO INCLUDED

The high ISO noise in the Raw files for the k-7 was pretty much equivalent with the other cameras in it's class when it came out. It was the jpeg engine's default handling (or lack there of) that put the K-7 behind the likes of the D300. S, it totally makes sense that changing the default settings and/or using some post processing would yield some nice shots at higher ISO settings on the k-7.
Thank you very much for this thread. I have since tried many of the suggestions contained within, and I am very pleased wth the results. I really love my K-7- and now even more!

Normally, I don't only buy this sort of stuff from an "unknown", especially on eBay. I've gotten good prices and great service from B&H, Adormama and my local camera store, and I really prefer to patronize these merchants. However, I've been considering buying this lens for a while, and this deal was just too tempting. I gambled, and it worked out well.

Yesterday, I received my brand new DA 55-300 lens. (This is the lens with the metal mount and hood, not the DAL). I had ordered it from cameraland on eBay.
It was described as being brand new, with full Pentax warranty, and the seller has very good ratings, and claims to be an authorized Pentax dealer. But, since it was only $249.99 with free shipping, I was skeptical that I was going to get exactly what was described in the listing. (...if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is...)
GOOD NEWS! it was EXACTLY what they said it was! Anyhow, they have more of these (7 the last time I checked) at that same bargain price. Enjoy!
