That's a great picture! Does anybody know if there's a way to hook up a smartphone to the camera for this purpose? I've been searching on google but can't find anything...

I've actually been doing it for a couple of years, but since I can now afford it, I thought I'd buy a real WA lens... Besides, I really hate PP'ing.
Well, you got me, I'm buying the sigma...and while I'm at it, maybe I'll also buy the DA55-300mm since I don't have a tele, but that's another issue on its own...
Thanks a lot guys! I'll be posting some shots as soon as I get the lenses! :D

For the past two months i've been working at a huge construction site which i really like... The problem is, every time i try to take a picutre of some scene I like, my lens is just not wide enough (usually the 18-55)... Therefore, i'm thinking of buying something wider, and here's where i need your help. I can't choose between the sigma 10-20, or the Pentax 10-17.
I know one is linear and the other one a fish-eye, but since i've never had a fisheye, i can't tell wether the distortion is too much or not...
I've tried the Sigma, but haven't had luck finding the Pentax (keep in mind i'm in Chile and we have no B&H. Do you have any ideas? Any tips? I'd really appreciate some help...

Any chance of shipping to Chile?? I've been looking for this lens for a while, and yours seems like a nice option. Thanks!

Well, if you are using the FA50 f1.4, you could just try to push the ISO a little... I you do need flash though, you could get a diffuser for the built in flash, or you could just make one... I used a small mirror i had laying around to bounce the light from the ceiling as you would with a flash gun. You lose a little power, but it's not too bad, and the photos look a LOT better...just my 2c.

Well, if i might add a my opinion, it's just a matter of going "door to door". In the 5 months since I bought my K200D i've already convinced 3 friends to buy the Kx, versus a D5000 or T1i. The best part is, the camera sells itself, they only need to try another pentax before buying one... Keep in mind that we're in Chile, not the US, and most of the publicity here is for Sony, with Nikon and Canon just behind.
On top of that, the Pentax distributers here sell the camera at veeery bloated prices, so that the cameras lose their main selling point inmediately. To further screw things up, they bring a really limited amount of lenses at the same price levels...
Even with all of this, my friends bought the Kx. They're all engineers, not photographers, and if i had to say what "sold" the camera, it would definitely be the backward compatibility, green button (or whatever the Kx equivalent is), double AA's and high ISO performance.
So if they won't (or can't) make a good marketing campaign, at least we can...:D

I have the same flash, use it on a K200D with no problems. When I got it, I did the same as you, just cleaned the contacts, and it was ready to go!
After a few weeks of using it, I found this online... Hope it helps! OT: Vivitar 550FD M/P/O -> Pentax SP TTL flash solution
I also use the flash with a Youngnuo CTR301 wireless trigger, with no problems...

Ok, i really should start posting to get some critique so... Let's start with the embarrasing photos... Taken some time ago, trying to get a decent self--portrait, gave up after an hour of just depressing results...:hmm: Attachment 46950 |

I've taken a few shots of the moon on its own several times but... I was wondering, has anyone ever tried with a graduated ND filter like the ones used for landscapes? Would that even work? I'm guessing it would have to be a really strong filter on the moon-side...

I bought this very lens in the marketplace, about 2 months ago. Paid about $100 for it. Hasn't come off the camera since. IQ is great, altough it does need a lot of light for close-up macros. Maybe a ringflash? I'm working on a DIY one i saw posted somewhere here... Anyways, its a great lens, if you need pictures, i'll post some (i'm not a very good photographer though :p)
Good luck!!

No, that's not it... Although i know exactly the software you're talking about, after trying it a while it's kind of boring... Did you ever use it? Do you have any good examples? Maybe you could start a thread for it! :D (and while you're at it, teach me how to use it properly...)
Edit: I remebered the name. "Liquid Resize"... but it was bought by onOnesoftware and now i just can't find it. Shoot...

Well, i disagree :p I loved Nš3 then 2, then 1... I like the background on Nš2, maybe the same treatment would improve Nš1?? I got distracted by the green reflections on the car...

The sig? Monty Python and the Holy Grail, great movie.... maybe the quote got lost in translation? English-spanish-english??
Never mind that, the shot is great, hopefully someday i'll get to taking portraits. I have a lot of trouble approaching strangers to shoot them like this, and shooting people i know is just no fun...
