I was shocked to see that price too. I know 67II prices have risen considerably, so maybe he thinks he can get that much. I'd be surprised if he did.

It was definitely produced. It was a limited edition to honor the EF58 61 Imperial train in Japan. Unlike some of Pentax's other gaudy limited editions (gold LX), this one is actually beautiful, in my opinion.
One is on its way to me now (no, not the one in the listing that was taken down)
Beyond special aesthetic emulating the colouring of the famous locomotive
EF58 61, the only functional change is the ability to set the shutter speed
at 1/2EV increment, everything else is the same as normal 67II, according to
the description.

Does anyone know how many of the Pentax 67II Limited editions were produced? I've heard 300, but I'm not sure.

I'm somewhat surprised that no one has mentioned the 105/2.4. I've read many good things about that lens, but maybe it's overhyped?

Every manufacturer has a lens or two in their lineup that's just special. It might be for sharpness, for bokeh, for color rendering, whatever. Canon has the 85/1.2L, Nikon has the 14-24, etc.
What are the "special" lenses for the Pentax 67? I've seen the grades given on the Antique Cameras site, but something tells me that's not the whole story.
So, Pentaxians, which lenses in the P67 lineup have that special something - whether it be sharpness, bokeh, rendering, etc?
I'm about to build out my kit and would love to know.
Thanks,
Mark

I can recommend the Epson 4490. Only around $115 USD and very good quality. For 35mm up to medium format too.

Thanks Steve. In reading the chart you linked to, I think (reading the B&H blurb) they just mean that it won't support ALL of those modes on older models. Looks like it will work fine in manual with auto aperture on the LX> |

Hi,
I was looking at the Zeiss 50mm F2 Macro ZK lens and saw this in the description at B&H:
Apologies for the newbie question, but what changed in 1998? Why wouldn't this work on the LX? It has an aperture ring, it's manual focus, so that's not the issue.
Thanks,
Mark

The biggest struggle for me in night photography is determining the proper exposure. Could you share your tips?
Stunning work!

Okay, noob question: Aside from the obvious weight and size issues, is there any advantage or disadvantages to the folding hood on a 67 vs the magnifying hood?
I assume there's a folding magnifier on the folding hood, but don't know how that compares to the regular fixed magnifying hood.
Thanks,
Mark

Actually I'm not looking for extreme DOF. In fact the look I'm going for is very, very shallow DOF - but I want to be able to control the focal plane depending on the situation, so a fixed tilt solution won't work.
I think the Zoerk may be it. $999 though sans lens. Yikes!

Hi,
I'm looking to find a tilt/shift lens that will work on a 67. Hartblei makes one for the 645 but (being a noob to this system) I have no idea whether that mount is the same as on the 67.
Is that the same mount? If not, is there a T/S lens that will work on a 67? Looking specifically for the Tilt, not just the shift.
Thanks,
Mark

I agree with your concerns, by the way and hope the final firmware is better. Even that awesome iguana shot from Frank has a lot of noise to my eyes at 100%
