Hello everyone !!! I wanted to share my story of a journey to Pentax and from Pentax and Back to Pentax.... Not to bore you with every little detail but I had shot Pentax all the way back to K1000 and went though just about every manufacture of digital cameras the last 10 years.. That being said I found a lot about myself that came to light recently, As with many families the last 2 years was very trying and even more so by the loss of both parents and two other family members in the last year, in which actually I had not been shooting much the last 3 years, I did make and have made images for profit (was my income for about 8 years) but even the passion and desire seemed to slip away during this time in fact I started selling of camera gear.. But then one day I thought I need to log back in here and just see what Pentax is doing and really make sure PF was still here and then after reading people's post reading reviews I thought I have to pull myself back up here and get back into creating images and rekindle that passion.. So my journey has got a kick start again and then I thought I need to replace some gear so I started some research on what is new on the market and I was ready to pull the trigger on either a new fuji or nikon, But then I thought no way I still have the K-1 and some Pentax glass no need to add another brand I need to stick with what I believe is one of the best FF cameras ever made (yes my biased opinion) so I though what I need to do is replace some glass instead and I must say the reviews here have help beyond measure.. So in my searching I did pick up a very reasonable priced K-3II and some very good glass !! So more than anything I guess I want to say thanks for all the info and keeping the fire burning !!!! Even at 66 one can dream again !!!

Well I have been on a long journey down the jumping gear and now jumping back into Pentax....
I have always had a soft spot for Pentax since my youth of many years ago and just can't seem to get them out of my head when it comes to acquiring new gear (old/new), I jumped to Fuji then Nikon and was just about to pull the trigger on a D850 when I stated looking at some of my images from my K-1 I thought hold the press these have excellent sharpness/resolution/color, so I went on a comparison for camera bodies and lenses (have some Nikon glass now for the Z body, BUT.... I found what I think was a great deal on a K-1 with Pentax 24-70 2.8 D FA 24-70 f2.8 ED SDM WR, for what i think was a great deal... I still have some old Pentax glass still as well..... Anyway not to bore you, I can't wait to get my new/old K-1 and get to shooting !!

Just received my K-1 and tried some old glass 35-70 f4, one light set up, this image was around 4 stops under-exposed (very dark) shot in DNG.. I am blown away by the amount of correction that can be done with these files, better than anything I have shot. I did do a little skin clean up as my granddaughter insisted :D

Thanks for all the input...Ok I guess I have to send back the K-1 I just ordered .... J/K .... my interest was more to try and avoid correcting architecture in post as much as possible, I may not need the tilt-shift as much as I think, Had just watched a video using one and that sparked my interest... I am far more interested in the other features the K-1 offers... Thanks again for all the info..... and yes I am ordering my K-1 tonight...
Thanks

Have sold some Fuji gear wanting to mover to FF, Have owned Pentax in the past (before the K1) my purpose was to have better tilt/shift lenses selection for real estate and landscapes. I did have some reservations though, But after reading some post here I think the K1 is more than enough to accomplish what I want. I do like the larger mp count of the K1 and the features.
Anyway that's my 2 cents

Thank you ALL!!...
@ kenyee I have shot Sony for some time now and I just feel the struggle to maximize the system, case in point the latest sensor 16 mp. Pentax gets it and makes a great camera Nikon gets it and makes a great camera Sony just turned out a good (crop sensor) in the A580 and 5N, I will miss the FF a850 but I think Pentax will be releasing one in the next year. I am not sold on the SLT design, Sony take a different approach and I think I don't want to follow.. The A77 has some great features but if you read between the lines I see a very average camera, poor high iso output, I have read that the EVF is good but again not ready for that myself, 24mp on a crop sensor is to much!! I may keep the 5N for now but we shall see..

Ok I have been shooting Sony for about 6 years (moved to Canon for 1 year) I have owned the K10,20 in the past but was drawn to Sony but today I posted lenses and soon the A850, I have the monies saved for what I thought would be the a77 but I am disappointed with it and Sony in general, I do however have the 5N which is a niche camera but it is fun to use,, But for higher end stuff I need the flexibility of a DSLR.. I was thinking Nikon but I started shooting Pentax in the film days, so here I am moving back!! Look forward to shooting Pentax again..

The factor in changing systems is one the lens availability on the Pentax side, the feature set on a Pentax maybe the best in the market.
Main reason glass!
Happy Shooting

Thanks all good stuff, I am leaning to Pentax only system, I do sell some of my prints and think for my type of shooting it is more than sufficient.. Thanks
