Cream and Frank. Please do some long exposure test (without NR at low iso settings). Thats the thing the matter most to me aside from the high iso performance.

Hi guys,
I just got my lens (tamron 28-75 f2.8) from the cleaning services due to slight fungus inside the lens. Before, even with fungus, the lens was sharp and contrasty wide open. But after it was cleaned (professionally), my shots wide open, starting from 40mm-75mm, were somewhat glowy (or lil foggy). The sharpness and constrast dropped drastically.
However, stopping down to f3.2 the foggy effect starts to drop and the contrast and sharpness went back to normal. at f3.5 ,the fog effect is completely gone. BUT.... I bought the lens for the 2.8 aperture. I am really dissappointed with my lens now.
I checked the lens and it's completely cleaned. no signs of marks or anything. Very clean.
Im yet to visit the person who cleaned my lens. But is it his fault?... Does it only need a lil adjustment or anything? or is it because the lens was damaged by the fungus (It only has 2 tiny spots of fungus)?

Damn!! I hate it when pentax lens price increase.... Not FF and yet priced like an FF lens. They should review... review.. review..... the prices...

If pentax was known for its cheap price, then they should review and lower their current prices. But in my humble opinion. If I compare my canon lenses with my pentax lenses: Durability: Pentax wins!! Advancement: Canon (the USM is indeed good). Glass Quality: I think both are great!

Okay. I just like to share my experience. I recently bought a canon 30D with some lenses. I found the AF to be fast as compared to my k10D/k20D. The 30D is a joy to use. I like the fast AF, high ISO capability (I like the ISO 1000 of the 30D) and the great flash system of canon (I really like the - 580EX II - very fast recycling time). For less amount of moolah I have aquired great lenses like the sharp 85mm f1.8 (which is the focal length I dream with my pentax system) and the 50mm f.1.8 (which is damn cheap- a really bang of the buck!!!).
So... which is better.. pentax or canon?
Okay... I'll be honest.... In terms of image quality - I think they produce the same (except for color config). In terms of advance technology - Canon.
I love pentax! Its in my blood. The canon maybe really good as compared to pentax in terms of advance technology but..... when Im using the pancake lenses... I forget canon (hehehe...).
I use them both for paid shoots.

I agree with rawr. Try eneloops with the sanyo charger. and thats it. If it doesnt work you may want to return it again to B&H.

I moved from nikon to pentax too... but for no reason because I just like the K10D that time with some old manual lenses (what a heaven to use)....
I think I should post my shifting from nikon to pentax to get more advertisement... hehehe....
Now that the new K-x has the high ISO ability... Hmmm.. I wonder what would canon and nikon would release to fight with the K-X (full packed entry level dslr).

If the FF is true should we collect some of our favorite FA lenses now? Because if its true... prices will get high (really high) and the FA35 f2 shall be one of the beast!
