I like #6 the best. I don't think it would be as cool looking if it were in color. Also like #10, it's beautiful. Your last shot of the building is striking, lots of strong angles and curves, which I am partial to.

Yes, it's probably the pole support. My work monitor tends to be dark so I cant really make out dark details. I "fade" stuff by altering the lightness/darkness so little problems are not noticed. It's often easier than cloning it out.

I notice that the first is cropped so the tops of the trees are cut but the second leaves them in. For proportion, maybe they could be cropped more alike. Also if the light colored wood at the side of the house bothers you, try darkening it a little so it is much less noticable. For composition I like the 1st better but would like it better still if the wood were less noticable.

Wonderful! The second, first and last in that order are the ones I like best. They have a special atmosphere about them, you couldn't have captured that on an standard sunny day...

I just love the second one, it's nicely lit and she is adorable with the juice all over her chin. The first one would be beautiful cropped down to a head shot. Her hair and expression are real nice but the rest is detracting and seems unbalanced.

I find the first very beautiful, and the last, quite interesting. The middle is hard to look at.

Nice shots, especially the first. I almost get vertigo from the panning of the snow!

FWIW, I like the the first one you posted but I *really* like the second! It impacted immediately with a "ooh, wish I was there" response.

I like the sleeping girl very well and I think her hand is fine, a natural pose. The light on her skin and the covers is wonderful, it looks softly moonlit. I don't like the bright spot near the feet though. Your face isn't lit enough to tell it's anything but an accidental bright spot which I didn't even notice.... On the whole though, it's a great idea and well executed.

Creative Do-it-yourself lighting! Great ideas! I agree with the other poster that one light is a bit too strong. I like the last one best. His face looks asymmetrical in the middle two.

First impressions: the first shot seems unbalanced and awkward. The second doesn't. I think the people at the edges of the second weights it better and even frames the man on the mat, so is a more pleasing composition. FWIW.

I like the light and the pose in the 3rd and 4th. The angle in the first two is not flattering at all. The angle of the light in #2 causes the front of the face to be sharply divided from her side-face and neck. The third is very nice, natural and flattering with the bright spot to frame her.

Oh thanks for the pictures. I will not try to reuse the glass so I won't need to be careful. :) It's a very old one.

I've often heard about making an extension tube by removing the glass from an old teleconverter. I have one, the IQ is too poor to use for anything else. However, how to I remove the glass? Break it or unscrew it? It looks like the attachment mechanism is part of the mount for the glass. I'd like a little guidance before I start undoing the little screws. Thanks for any help.

I love the last one, the colors are so vibrant! The petunias look washed out, with a lack of contrast though.

Oh, these are so wonderful! I'm quite envious as I have been trying to get a decent shot of these but mine come nowhere near these!
