Gooshin... Canada is a part of this too. Easy to hurl stones, and back them with facts.

Canada’s total merchandise trade with China has soared in the last decade, reaching $42.1 billion in 2006 and accounting for 5.0% of Canada's world trade.

1. In 1997, China was Canada’s fourth largest trading partner with total merchandise trade of $8.7 billion. By 2003, the country had emerged as Canada’s second largest trading partner surpassing the U.K. and Japan.

2. Imports from China were five times higher in 2006 than in 1997 while exports to the country tripled. Canada's Trade with China: 1997 to 2006

Go ahead an look up the US numbers. They ARE higher. But at $42.1 Billion (more now) and climbing FAST, you certainly have no moral/ethical standing to take this position.

To each according to his abilities... China is your second largest partner... The fact that you all have less money to spend is hardly the issue. Clearly you all CHOOSE to help with China's emergence pretty much to the very best of your abilities.

That makes you complicit. Why don't you do something about it as opposed to telling us what we need to do. As for me, I AM doing something about it and buying Canadian whenever I can. Heh.

Kx - MLU w/ bracketing?

Wrong. Just plain wrong. There are a large number of reasons why bracketing is useful, and that is why the function is found on Pro Cameras as well.

As for what the reasons ARE, I know what MY reasons are, the OP knows HIS reasons. If you don't have any reasons then perhaps my advice would be, there's no reason to leave messages about bracketing advice if you don't use it.

bnorikane, I am interested in the answer to this, since I do just what you want to do on my K10D and K20D. I am pretty sure I saw this issue raised elsewhere and that the K7 actually has the same issue. I wish I could contribute to this, but I will follow the answers with interest.

EDIT: I did find something on dpreview with respect to the K7 that indicates that there is a work-around for the MLU issue for regular exposure bracketing - use live view, with the AF set to contrast-detect AF in the appropriate menu -- this will cause the mirror to remain locked up for the entire sequence. Since your Kx has Live View, perhaps this will work?

How liberating.

Dude, the pictures of your Dad were weak. Really weak. Better once you got rid of the blue, but weak in any form. The commentary was worse. The fact that you thought ANYONE really cared was... well... typical.

Wow! You are right, I am a dickweed!

Wow.

At UCLA I took classes in the philosophy of law from John Hospers. I am and have been a libertarian from that day. You are right that it does not always hold up. Yet it remains a useful lens, one that I pick up often.

I am impressed both with the depth of your insight into a philosophy so few really understand, as well as your ability to pose such a question without in any manner giving offense. Well put.

I do not have an answer though the cost is undoubtedly high. I have for some time aligned myself with the Bhuddist view that wanting deprives us of contentment and happiness. I have never, however, applied that thought as a strong macro-economic proposition. It has some merit. Thanks for the insight.

"a troll is someone who posts controversial, inflammatory, irrelevant, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum or chat room, with the primary intent of provoking other users into an emotional response or to generally disrupt normal on-topic discussion."

Who is the REAL troll here? I am just stating facts. you are the one who posted this stuff asking if anyone is offended. Then when you didn't get the reaction you REALLY wanted, you kind of dissed everyone with... "its pretty bang on to what i expected."

Who cares really what you expected?

NPD? See: Narcissistic personality disorder - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Here's the short course:

1. has a grandiose sense of self-importance
2. is preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success, power, brilliance, beauty, or ideal love
3. believes that he or she is "special" and can only be understood by, or should associate with, people (or institutions) who are also "special" or of high status.
4. requires excessive admiration
5. has a sense of entitlement
6. is interpersonally exploitative
7. lacks empathy
8. shows arrogant, haughty behaviors or attitudes

Gee... who does THAT sound like.

Posting "comics" about suicide goes right to point 7. Statements like: "i was just curious what the reaction would be from this crowd, you all voiced your opinions, although i must say its pretty bang on to what i expected" go right to the heart of 8 and also belies some form of attitude that we are all idiots, going straight to the heart of preoccupation with (fantasies of) brilliance.

Yes, we are all just dullards and we just don't get how brilliantly funny this really is. Keep talking Gooshin.

The poll isn't flawed, your question was. Take responsibility. You made a mistake. Is that so hard for you to say?

There is nothing funny about suicide.

You are NPD aren't you? What happened Gooshin? Did mama withhold love?

K20D vs. K10D SDHC Capacity

Long time lurker here.

Just upgraded from K10D to K20D. Still have my K10D. I've noticed something about file sizes, and am interested if anyone knows what accounts for the following diparity.

When the k20D is set to 10 mb, "four star" (max) jpg quality, a 4GB card will hold 416 shots. Photos are 3872x2592, ~ 6.82 mb each. At "three stars" the capacity jumps to 693 shots. Photos are 3872x2592, ~ 4.41 mb each.

My K10D shoots 10 mb "three star" (max) jpg at 3872x2592, ~ 3.43 mb each, and this results in having about 827 shots per 4GB card.

Same 4GB card, formatted natively by the camera in use at the time. Same target and lighting conditions.

I want to stress that this is not an issue. I am simply interested in what accounts for the almost 3.4 mb difference between the K20D "fine" and the K10D "fine" images? This is an almost 100% increase in image size from K10D to K20D without the actual size changing. The one thing I did not look at was dpi...
