I basically have have a subset of group 2 already with the 31/43/77 ltd's, the 35ltd, a Sigma 24-60/2.8. My plan was to add the Sigma 8-16, DA*55/1.4, 15ltd, 60-250/4 over the coming year. I am hoping for something different in the DA* area to address the whole SDM confidence level. But I don't worry about the 60-250/ltd though I would not say no to going with the Sigma 100-300/4 either as I once owned a copy in a Canon mount and LOVED it.
From set 1 I would want to keep the 85 and 300 for sure. I think I would choose the 15ltd over the 14mm though. Just seem to like the shots I've viewed from the 15ltd better. But to me that 85 and 300 are treasures and it would be hard for me to sell them off.
So I suppose I would say group 2 with caveats of keeping the 85 & 300 though I am assuming the bulk of the funding would come from the sale of those two...sigh, LBA is a bitch, huh? hahaha...but really just sticking with group 1 and filling in over the coming year by collecting cans? hehehehe...best of luck deciding.

yet more reasons to scold and hand out "demerits" to users...what a cluster-you-know-what this place has devolved into.

I would easily recommend the OP as a trade partner or even a straight sale. Very nice person to negotiate with. So, a nudge for being a decent person! A real rarity here anymore.

There is a genuinely nice gentleman with a thread over on DPR's Pentax Forums who has been on the fence about Pentax vs. Nikon, specifically a K-5 vs. D7000. He likes the Pentax offerings but had a less than sense of confidence in the retailer where he lives who carries Pentax and is concerned with potential service issues.
Nobody there seems to be too aware of the situation in Israel so I thought I would open a thread here for him to come and read in the even anyone has something they can offer to help his decision.
He has been very diligent in reading each and every suggestion following up with thank you's or added questions.
Of course some mod is going to claim I posted this is the wrong forum and I will then be banned from PF but who cares anymore.

Yeah, I have found a few like that as well. As to a "good" episode I have not watched that many and nothing stands out to me. Perhaps I enjoyed it simply because it wasn't the norm in terms of photography related web video. And certainly the host needs to improve in his process as well. But with time it might get better, because as I mentioned above, Iam not sure if they have been at it a full year yet...or maybe not, I don't remember. Hope it gets better for ya.
One of the things I notices is some episodes seemed more like infomercials for each photographers upcoming gallery exhibits/shows.

yeah, I guess they are rather new at this. So it should improve over time, one hopes. I just thought offering it as a potential resource beyond the idea of the how-to videos out there which are good but there is a point of saturation.
And yeah, there are the pregnant pauses in the interview process as well as needing some better way to display examples of the photographers work and perhaps some of their creative process. Hopefully it will improve as the host refines he interview process. Still it is something different from the norm these days where it's all about measurebation.

oh, not sure, just anything to make sure, show, all of the modes work as intended. I have assumed things from Pentax in the past so figure leave no questions unasked. So far I don't see anyone paying attention or mentioning what metering is being used in a shot. And since we have no idea if the changed anything or not I was thinking more focused testing would be worthwhile.

I ran across this webcast a while back and have watched a few episodes. some are painful to watch but others are pretty interesting. I have been meaning to pass the link along but keep forgetting. So here it is while I am still lucid this AM: Smibs.tv | Fine Art Photography Weekly
I guess there are also times when the webcast is live and people can Skype or IM to the show.
I usually watch it via Justin.tv but the site works well also...not sure if they have YouTube vids as well.

Just curious as not much has been mentioned about the metering of the K-5. Or if someone did I missed it...just most for those who can... ;)

thanks Falk...the specs I've read didn't mention any noise canceling so I was curious.
I don't know why but I missed you were using an external mic...whoops! ;) So I see why it wouldn't pick-up a lot of the in-body noises like the SR.

do you know if the mic has any noise canceling or is it just not sensitive enough to pickup the in-body noise?

I think they are just cloying and being a couple Pentax-teases. I meant we already know they are into measurebating by proxy....
