Comet 2011 L4 Panstarrs photographed from Isaacs Ridge in Canberra, Australia. Mount Taylor in the foreground looks furry because of the Astrotracer function tracking the stars. :) 20130305-comet-panstarrs01 by RobGeraghty, on Flickr

Good telescope lens coatings are on par with good camera lens coatings.

Just as it rises above the horizon, the "Super Moon" takes a pleasing hue.
I am wondering why the edge of the moon looks "jagged" ... perhaps due to the humidity ?
Any way at all to make it "rounder" at the edges? Or is this normal and acceptable?
40% cropped for the "magnification" effect. No other PP except for a bit of "curve" adjustment.
Enjoy! Super Moon 1 by Natimages, on Flickr

Ask FocusingScreen for one... It seems they can do special orders, if asked (with seemingly no charge).
Acheron : you can theorically buy them from Pentax, but good luck!
I'm still waiting for someone to give me an official price... Here is my current progress:
- Pentax France: "We don't know these pieces, ask your dealer",
- My dealer: "we don't know these pieces, ask PM2S" (PM2S is the official French Pentax service)
- P2MS: "we cannot sell you these parts, ask your dealer to order them"
- My dealer: "we don't know about these pieces, ask PM2S directly"
At last, I was able to have at least a price estimation: 4.99€ a shim!!!

hi there i think maybe i know whats wrong.
your shutter speed is 15s. but your interval setting is only 1s.
every 1s it will try to take a picture but the shutter is still in progress.
thus every 16 tries is only manages 1 shutter.
try spreading out your interval timing setting to match your shutter speed setting.
=)

I was wondering what the interior of a lens look like particularly the screwdrive AF of a Pentax lens but I didn’t really want to dissect one. For those who are curious on what it looks like, I went ahead and x-rayed my DAL 18-55mm. Here are the images...
