That's interesting, I've recently bought one of those lenses and I would like an R72 to go with it but, I didn't want to spend the money only to find that the lens produced a hotspot. It's nice to know now that it will work. The only problem is that they currently cost around £120 here in the UK so, I'm afraid it's going to have to wait a while. Thankfully I have one in 67mm and some adaptor rings to go with my other lenses so all is not lost.

These are my early infrared attempts. I realise they are a long way from being as good as some that I've seen but, I thought I'd post them up anyway.
The first two were taken with a K20D and an R72 filter
The remainder were taken with as Ist DL2 and an R72 filter |

I'm no caver, strictly the winch for me. My brother has done it though. I plan to go back down against next year only this time with armed with a decent lens on the front of my K20D

I have several, taken in the chamber some okay and some not so good. Twice a year, local caving clubs set up a winch to lower members of the public down into the main chamber. I was on holiday in the area at the time and felt it was to good an opportunity to miss.

It is supported if that's what you mean. I'm using version X2 ultimate but I had to upgrade from XI when I first bought my K20D because I was experiencing a similar problem to the one that you have now.

Quick question. Which is the better format to shoot in, PEF or DNG. Since getting a K20D I've used DNG but I was wondering what the consensus is on the two formats. For post production I use Corel PSP and occasionally GIMP.
Thanks

Excellent photograph, did you take it in RAW.
I took some at a place in the UK called Gaping Gill and I had to use ISO 3200/6400 and I only had the kit lens fitted. Some have come out OK but others had an horrendous amount of noise. I will post them up in a separate thread later.

Number 1 is West Blatchington which is on the outskirts of (north) Brighton grid ref: TQ 279068
Number 2 is I think Oldland near Keymer and Ditchling grid ref: TQ 321163
Numbers 3,4, and 5 are the Clayton Windmills Jack and Jill which are north of Brighton and within sight of the Oldland mill. Their grid ref is TQ 303134
Numbers 6,7,8 and 9 are of Halnaker Windmill near Chichester and Goodwood. This one sits on top of a hill in the middle of the South Downs and is probably my favourite. The grid ref is SU 920097
Sussex seems to have an abundance windmills, I used this website to plan my route
My favourite one is the one of my youngest daughter launching herself of the bench because it reflects her character perfectly.
Other people have also likened that one to horror movies
Thank you all for your kind comments

Hi all
I'm from Bordon, Hampshire, in the United Kingdom. I'm the proud owner of a K20D which I nearly destroyed on a recent holiday. Thankfully my home and contents insurers are footing the bill for my carelessness and I should be getting it back within a week or so. In the meantime, I will just have to cope with my older Ist DL2 that I had handed down to my 11 year old daughter.
My first Pentax was an ME Super which I bought in the early eighties used up until the mid nineties when family commitments/mortgage payments got in the way a bit.
When DSLRs became affordable I bought my Ist DL2 which I later upgraded to my K20D. Last week I bought a 16-50mm SMC DA* lens just before the prices nearly doubled at some retailers.
Nice to meet you all
Neil
