Well put apples to apples If the K5 tec ISO auto focus where in line, 512xx+iso would be no problem for this camera.
it would compare to a 1D MKIV at $6500.
Humm let me think
YES I WILL

"the right thing to do economically, but politically it meant that nobody knew that they were getting a tax cut"
This is misleading.. Yep they took less out of your check but they did not change the tax rate.. You still owed the same amount. Net effect you got a smaller refund or you owed.
So yep i noticed.

Sr is to stop camera shake when your trying to hold the camera still and shoot a still subject.
(hand held portait or slow moving (walking)
If you use it when panning or snaping moving objects it can couse a blur.
Also at high shutter speeds 1.5x focal length. (100mmx1.5 =150 sec shutter min) the shutter
speed cancles out the need for sr.
Also if you are on a tripod it should be off.

Turn on catch in focus.
Depending on light use shutter priority keep it at 250 or higher.
or set for apatuer priority and start at f8 and raise it to maintain a minimum of 250. If you get f8 /4000 dont wory about it.
Turn off SR
Set your drive speed to hi.
Set for AFS As you see the shot coming up jam the button all the way down. and hold to your target. The camera will focus and the second it gets focus it will fire the shutter. You will get in focus shots consitatly this way. you might not get the exact shot you want.
Set for AFC press half way down on the shutter and alow the camera to track focus your target. as the shot comes up press all the way down and hold. The camera will continuasly fire every time it locks.
Start there then adjusts as you learn how it all comes together. K20d may not be the fastes shooter out there but it will do great sports outside in bright light.
PS Dont be afraid to jump the ISO to 400 to get the shutter speed you need noise will be minimal in that situation.

Or we could stop spending.
O BTW 1 year after Bush cut taxes the income to the us Treasury increased by 25%.
The same happened when Reagan did it. Now what happened to all that money.
Go ahead take all the money from the top 5% in the U.S. (they dont need it caint spend it, we have a right to take there property any way). put it up to run the goverment. you will be broke again in less than a week.

I have been there with a 400mm prime and at that range if its up close your screwed and you caint change lenses fast enuff. So un less you want to spring $1000. for a big ma 100- 500( probably a very good choice but price was a big point in this question. ) your best bet is the 55-300 at $350. less if you go used.

da 55-300 will do you fine for an air show if you put yourself any where near show center. You wont need 300 that mutch and will spend most of your time at 150 / 200

K7 with a very slight larger and faster chip with yet to be determined AF and noise performance. UMMM where is the big honkin 20D replacement the K7 was not only not enough improvement in function to up grade but with the reduction in size its ergonomics is a drop to. So what I am really asking is dose this put the last nail in the pro use of Pentax? Don’t get me wrong I LOVE my 20D PENTAX But I want pro AF and noise performance. The only question is where to get it? Will Pentax come clean and tell their core base what there long-term goals are?
