Noticed a drop in Z camera prices, maybe the III's will be announced pretty soon. The Z7 II is at a tempting price point.

Thank you all for your shared experiences. It will be an 11 day walking tour including many historic sites, countryside and villages, as well as the big cities at each end of the trip. I'll go with the 15 and 20-40, think about the 55-300. Just ordered a 15 today, better get practicing with it, and get used to my settings in general. Been a while since a trip like this. First one was in Peru, including a week's hike to Machu Picchu (not the Inca Trail) and I loved using the 16-45 and K200D. I've used the 18-135 on trips, great lens, but like yucatanPentax's experience, I think most images were in the lower half of the range.

Great lens, I should use it more. Look forward to trying it on a K1 II when I get one.

Thank you both, I was considering a 15 as a primary lens in many areas, and since I'll be using the KP and the 20 on the K1 II was useful, the 15 on the APS-C will be valuable, if not a 20 FF equivalent. 20-40 and 15 may be the kit.

Howdy-

Have an upcoming walking tour in Japan, planning to take my 20-40, maybe as my only lens, perhaps add 55-300 and/or a 15. Don't really like to change lenses much when traveling with a group.

Anyone feel strongly about a good alternative? I'm familiar with and like the 18-135, wonder if there are thoughts about the 16-85, 24-70, and 24-105 as other choices in terms of image quality. I generally know the size differences.

Thought I'd just throw out the open question for ideas well ahead of the trip.

Thanks.

thanks for your replies. i'd prefer auto focus as well, if possible, particularly for the 150-450.

Not sure where to post this, and I suspect it has probably been asked before. I'm mainly thinking about Lumix, but is there a chart or other reference, or can folks pass along which mirrorless cameras work well, when adapted, with Pentax lenses? Just coming up to speed on this. Primarily interested in 150-450 and 11-18, at least for now. Thanks in advance.

Great price, thinking about that vs the open box price at Ricoh which is $300+ more but maybe less risk.
