I did not put some glue as the glue as still sticky and there is a metallic part on top of it when the metallic frame inside is mounted back. However I detached it very slowly to make sure it would glue again after the operation.
You have to keep the pins under (while keeping the whole 3-piece metallic shape together because of the wires that you don't want to disconnect) so that they dont fall, the springs tend to jump but if you remove the glued plastic shape slowly they will remain in place. They are very small (merely bigger than the pins themselves and very light and very close to each other so I hope you have small fingers...)
Thanks ;) I thought of taking pictures ... when it was finished but I didn't want to take the risk of messing anything up again !
What I did was first remove the plastic shape (2 sets of tiny screws), taking care of the joints. The 2 parts are removed easily by sliding along the internal metallic frame.
Then I figured other screws would help separating 2 parts of the frame, 2 of which are difficult to access (easy to unscrew but difficult to replace, the use of a magnetic screwdriver could help).
The 2 parts after unscrewing are still linked by a set of wires (a cable loom ? I don't know the term) so you have to keep them close to each other while you start ungluing the top of the pin case. Then you should see whether some springs are misplaced or not and try to put them back.
Mounting back is quite easy except for the 2 screws I mentioned (and xixco earlier as well), and for the caution of the forks next to the shoot/Power button that can be moved when putting the plastic shape back.
Hope this helps,
It sure helps my practice of English ;)

Hi all,
A Pentax owner since 1994 or so, I've used and still own 4 bodies (from ME to K10D) and more than a half dozen lenses (Pentax and Sigma). I've started professional photography this year and have done weddings, photojournalism and a little exhibition on macrophotography. I couldn't find such an active community on the French internet, so I 'll do my best with the language ;)

Hello,
I unmounted my grip for the same reason last week : both dials were not working, and two of the pins were stuck inside and thus not connected to the camera.
The pins are pushed by tiny springs (copper I'm not sure because I remember their being magnetic) and I discovered after pulling the glued cover at the end of the pin box that the spring were in fact not pushing the two blocked pins. I eventually managed to put them back (but it's a very difficult operation because all the other springs tend to come out as well...), put the glued cover back, and mounted the whole grip back again.
Now my grip is fully functional.
I wouldn't recommend doing that unless you are in a very tiny and calm environment ! Moreover, when mounting the hard case back, two small forks attached to the power switch at the top are in contact with the case, you have to be very carefull not to twist them, or the power/shoot button will stop working. It happenned to me and took me a while to find out where it came from (the forks are easy to put back in their normal position, being quite flexible).
Sorry I didn't take pictures then, it would be easier to explain, especcially for a non native english writer like me ;)
Hope this helps and good luck !
