Ooh ooh can I join in :)
Got my first mirror lens last week, the Tamron 500mm. All I've done is moon shots, this is my best so far: |

I hope they paid you! Otherwise some of the grumpier pros are going to come along and accuse you of contributing to the demise of professional photography. ;)

Thanks folks!
I'm glad someone else mentioned Day's Labour, I knew I liked that one as soon as I pressed the shutter button, although not too many people seemed to agree with me!

Great picture Dr O. The PEG is certainly laughable at times. What were the comments accompanying the rejection? Some tripe about lack of detail in the corners or something?

Personally I think that is pretty funny in a guilty pleasure sort of way. The words are completely misogynistic, of course, although the contrast between the 'ghetto speak' and the imagined behaviour of a boy from the 30s is part of the humour.
I don't see the problem with appropriating an HCB image for this. The images are never going to be used with permission, so it doesn't seem to make a difference if they nicked HCB's or someone else's.
It would be interesting to know if the author knew whose photo it was.

Hi everyone :)
Bit gutted that no one was in time to rebut George's claim that "nobody has sought to censor or curtail" the Tim thread before it got locked :) Will be logging back in tonight to delete all my gallery pictures, and request that my competition entires all be removed as well.
I will also request an explanation as to why the Mario thread was deleted but the Levitation thread was allowed. Should be interesting to see how they dodge that one!

Not sure why this has no comments, it's rather good :) Bottom might be slightly dark, although it's hard to tell against the white background of the forum.
Great stark feel to it. Overall a solid picture! Plus it's a great BW conversion, which always helps.

Yay, more rejections :D :P
The comments on 3 of them were fair enough, just differences in opinion. This one I can sort of see where a couple of comments are coming from, but not entirely. I do have to wonder if comments like 'bright red' merely indicate poor descriptive skills or a poorly calibrated monitor. :)
Does anyone else think this is too dark?
- Distracting cord at bottom of frame.
- Otherwise interesting arrangement and lighting of an ordinary scene.
- not really interesting to me. The bright red portions on the bottom are distracting and draw my eyes there.
- Close, but just a bit too dark

Ah, these bring back some great memories. Spent a (very hot) week scrambling around the ruins a few years back. A truly magical place. Did you also get out to Ta Phrohm?
Bob Harris - the complex was built around the 12th century. Even though it is technically a temple complex when you're walking around it feels more like a city.
