Bookmarked this immediately. Thank your for taking the time to write this up, Colton! It's a very clear set of instructions :)
Looks like this is much less time-consuming than the Vuescan + ColorPerfect method most people seem to recommend for Ektar, while the results look great to me!

Don't know if I posted this on the forums already, anyways here we go. A bookshop in a former church, beautiful location with great light. Nice selection of books too :)
I have more pics from the same spot, just need to upload them to Flickr sometime, if anyone is interested :) Book Shop by Laurent Paardekooper, on Flickr

Shot in Brussels last summer with my Yashica Electro 35 GS. Some more shots from the same roll show this blue band through the left side, but not all. Could that still be a light leak? Flags by Laurent Paardekooper, on Flickr

Shot a concert last Thursday of an interesting local band, had a nice evening and some pretty decent shots :)
There may be more coming up on my flickr, just need to wait for some of the shots to get published first. Knarsetand by Laurent Paardekooper, on Flickr

Simple shot, but I like it nonetheless :)

I'm partaking in a little black&white photo challenge on facebook, so time for me to post more b&w work here as well! (Not that I didn't shoot b&w regularly yet, haha). Both shot with my new Helios 44M, the 58mm f/2 version.

Portrait of one of my best friends, shot with an old Lubitel, made by Lomo. Some swirly bokeh action going on! Im surprised by how sharp it is, even wide open it wasn't bad at all. This shot's somewhere around 5.6 though, iirc.
The viewfinder however is the worst one known to mankind, composing a shot with your eyes closed is easier than using that thing:D
Shot on Tri-X, dev'd in HC-110. First time I used HC-110, but I quite like this combo :) Jules by Laurent Paardekooper, on Flickr

Took this a few years back, but then I wasn't all that active on the forums. Now I'm digging through all my old stuff and thought why not upload it again? The Stairwell by Laurent Paardekooper, on Flickr

In your photo of the Fiat 500 I see those murky shadows more prominently. The tires just sort of disappear in the wheel arches. You're definitely right about that and this is not how Portra usually performs. Looking at the highlights, I'm quite sure your exposures are spot on. I presume your film hasn't expired yet, leaving the lab as the only culprit I guess.

Exposure looks about right, although it's quite hard to really get that wrong with modern color neg film. Your shots have the typical Portra look if you ask me (I'm addicted to the stuff :D ). It's not the most punchy film in the world, that's why it works so well in portrait photography. So perhaps it's just that you prefer a different flavor?

With the 135 f/3.5, can't remember at what aperture I set it. Probably around 5.6 or so. It's quite a sharp, little lens! Sunglasses by Laurent Paardekooper, on Flickr

Went to the city of Den Bosch a week ago and found out there are a lot of small canals that you don't see at all when you only go to the city center. Den Bosch by laurentpaardekooper, on Flickr

I love those last two shots, awesome colours and composition! I don't know how or why, but those two have a medium format look going on. Nice!

Haven't posted on PF in ages... Haven't been photographing much either, time to pick it up again!
I'd love to have some critique on this shot, since I'm quite proud of it. Saw the umbrellas rise, turned around, brought the camera to my eye whilst guessing focus and SNAP! It just became exactly what I had in mind, without much putting much conscious effort in it. Love it when that happens :)
Processing was done with Nik Silver Efex 2, I tried to keep it fairly neutral but contrasty still. OH, ISO was 640 actually, but I can't select that here. Not that you see the difference on a K-5 anyway
EDIT: Now why is the photo not appearing in this post, but in the thread overview the thumbnail does?

@theunartist, I really like that photo of that metal grate.
Here's my latest abstract/minimalist image. It's a view on the MAS museum in Antwerp, a beautiful building if you ask me.
K10D + Sigma 18-50 f/2.8.
Just a little bit of pp; a touch of the Urban Acid action. Which, when applied with care and on certain photos, can actually look pretty decent. Mostly I think it's just a way overused action.
