Hi guys, sorry I have just barely seen your posts. International shipping is $45 (both to Europe or Australia). And shutter count is about 11,500. That is via Priority Mail. I believe regular mail would be about $20 cheaper but I don't feel comfortable shipping regular mail for a package of this value.

Trouble playing images

I am currently using a K20D and also have a K10D and I have been having trouble playing images lately. When I push the play button to view the images, it just gets stuck there while trying to load. So when it is not loading the image, I would turn off the camera, then the number of remaining images to shoot will appear on the top and the orange light goes on on the back. I have to wait a few minutes for that light to go off and for everything to reset before I can take any pictures. THis has happened a lot with both cameras now. Has any of you have the same issues with their camera? What seems to be causing this problem? Any feedback on this would be greatly appreciated. I am getting VERY frustrated with this.
THANK YOU!

Mine has not been firing up outside lately either, and like you said I was in the park too, wide open and no walls to bounce it from! So if that is the case we need the radio trigger?

I absolutely agree with you about the story telling. I did give them a lot of photos conveying more emotions and the people that are important to them, these were just some that I randomly picked to post on my blog.

Thank you guys! I appreciate it!

Wow, I made note of everything you said! It makes so much sense!! Thank you so much for taking the time to do this!! Number #2 was indeed a spur of the moment photo, that I decided to take anyway because of the special relationship she has with her son. I knew she would like it.

I do struggle with angles and what would look best in certain situations, so thank you for your tips on those. I shot these mostly with my tamron 28-75.

Thanks again! I have learned a lot from your post!

Ok so after a serious beating on the FM forum about my first set of wedding pictures, I decided to only post here, because you guys are just much more laid back here and still take the time to give constructive critiscism instead of bringing you down. I have learned a lot from the beating that I got and from the few wedding photographers that took the time to help me and tell me what I did wrong! Anyway, I feel I have somewhat improved. I know I am not where I need to be but I also know that there is hope in the Pentax K10D world!!!
Anyway, any feedback on these would be appreciated!!

Thanks guys!

Equipment for on location lighting

Thank you! I will look into it.

I want to be a little more creative with my shoots. I am trying to do a little bit of everything. I shoot families, children and I am breaking in wedding photography and I would love to start using lights on locations for engagement sessions, bridals and weddings as well. My clients are the very low budget clients so right now what I do is enough, but I want to improve, get better and be able to eventually target higher end weddings.

Just wondering what is a good lighting set up for shootin on location. What equipment can be used? what power source to bring etc...?
I have a set of SquarePerfect SP160 strobe lights that I use for my studio. Is that something I can use on location?
Anyway any feedback on that would be appreciated!
Thanks!

Thank you guys!! I so appreciate constructive criticism!!!
Alan I am afraid there is a lot more "bridezillaness" coming up for me in the very near future!!!! But at least now I know what I have done wrong and hopefully will be able to correct it!

Now whenever I edit like kind of funky, like 6 and 7 I always give them the colored copy. Same with the frames, I usually give them the photo without them too, just in case. Some do like them, some not so much. But here are the photos in color:

They actually do look better than the BW + color!! ;)

I have "wax figures" stuck in my head now!! lol!! :D Can you tell me if this is slightly better?

Oh and the mother of the bride is definitely out of focus!!!! :o:o

Okay for those of you who had warned me not to do this, I don't want to hear any "I told you so"!!!! :D Because I am definitely not quite ready for this!!!
But because I advertised my service at a very small fee people kept calling me!!!
Unfortunately I have 4 more as main photographer after this!! :( I don't know what I was thinking!! I need to be second shooting, I just hope that this will open some doors to some assisting jobs because i feel there is so much I still don't know. I made so many mistakes! I am lucky that the bride was VERY easy to please and loved her photos!!
So here is a sample set from the noob on the block!!!! Go easy guys!

Yeah, you just don't "enter the wrong amount" twice within seconds!!! I was a seller on Ebay for a while and I have heard stories of people doing that a lot!! It is a shame!

I understand what you mean. Now there are two reasons why I jumped into the wedding adventure this way. First it was a favor to a friend, who is perfectly well aware of my inexperience in that field and second doing it this way was my desperate attempt at being able to photograph a wedding. Because up to this point I had not been able to find ONE single photographer who was willing to take me along and assist them so that I could learn from them!! It is only after I accepted the challenge from my friend that I found someone to take me along with them on their wedding shoot. So that is the only practice I am going to have before my first wedding as the main photographer.

Having said that, I am not too worried about pleasing my friend, I know I will have some decent shots for her that she will be happy with, especially after PP, but I always have to set the bar pretty high and feel like I have to deliver the first time around, so that I will have a strong foundation for potential future clients. Which is rare I am sure, even to the most experienced photographer! But I have to learn the hard way, that goes for everything, what can I say?!! It is do or die with me, it is pretty bad!

So the outcome will be interesting to say the least, because like this was not bad enough, two more people came to me after hearing that I finally decided to do weddings, and want me to shoot theirs!! So August 22nd is going to be a very important day in my life as a photographer...hence the acute bridezilla syndrome!! :D

You can say that again!!! :D

I just can't afford those nice prime Pentax lenses right now so that is why I was looking at the Tamron or Sigma.

Okay at this point I am looking for something affordable and versatile, something I will be using most of the time and from what I have read, people get a lot of use out their tamron 28-75. If I need that wide aperture I will have to use my 50mm 1.4 for now. And then my next choice will probably be that sigma 24mm 1.8.
