just ran 2 @ 500 click @ 3sec tests. indoor, manual focus, jpeg format. K3 was purchased from B&H on 12/21/2013. s/n: 4851561. firmware 1.02
I have not had this issue yet.

ok, I'm pissed. I purchased the B&H package before Christmas, it had all of this except the grip, had camera bag instead. I think the grip is a better deal and higher cost.

I see Pentax recommends the BG-5 battery grip for the K-3. what is the difference between the BG-5 and the BG-4? I have a BG-4 from my K-5 and it fits and works fine.

I was using 11 point focus to try and keep all in focus. on my K10 I used center focus most of the time.

I just purchased a K5, used but with only 300+ clicks. I also have had a K10d since 2007. In this picture I am taking a group photo at a bowling alley. as you can see, what I thought I was focusing on is out of focus. The background is very clear. I was able to sharpen with software. maybe I have a setting wrong? I use the P mode most of the time. picture details: K5 with a 18-135 WR lens, 54mm 1/80 exp. F/4.5 ISO-1600. I never had this problem with my K10. Thanks for any comments, Dave

I'm having a similar problem with my K10d and the Tamron 18-200. it happens more near 200mm zoom. I'm going to also contact Tamron.
