I have B&W filters (67 & 72mm) for the lenses, step down rings, and B&W 72mm Circ Polarizer. Let me know if you want the filters when you buy the lens, and we can negotiate. Please send a PM if you are interested. You pay the shipping. No returns unless broken (everything works fine).

Has anyone actually done it? Put the 283 on a K10, K20 or K5? I saw a camera store owner (Camera Exchange in San Diego) do it and it seemed to be fine. He said that it doesn't send any voltage to the camera, but it is just a matter of a circuit being opened or closed.

Hi, I have a Dell Studio laptop. What do you think of the Spyder3Express as compared to the HueyPro which is a little more. Over all for that price range, are they sufficient? I am not a pro, but have had photos printed, and been disappointed with the inconsistent results from the commercial lab, usually too dark.
Thank you.

Hi, do you still have the bellows unit, w/ lens and extension tubes? I'm interested and will take them. Please send me the account where I can send money through Paypal. Stephen Parker
Ps: will it fit directly to a K20? Or is something else needed?

This is very informative because I have wondered about using the larger format lenses on my DSLRs. What are the factors for results? Can any of you direct me to a definitive discussion? Would a 645 300mm have double the telephoto result? Might these give more affordable solutions than some of the 35mm premium lenses?
Thanks for helping a neophyte. :)

Thanks, that is more of what I am trying to understand. Is it that Canon overexposes or Pentax underexposes? Do you know how much? thanks.

I own both a k10 & K20. I have used a Canon 20D, and the Canon raws & jpgs seem brighter. Is there a compensation that can be programed in? I can fix it in Photoshop Lightroom, auto, but I would rather get the results right in the camera.
I usually shot manual and on AWB.

I appreciate your work in trying to figure it out. So, your conclusion is that the 1.5 is useful where you want move in on a small object (song bird in a tree) and get accurate metering. You are saying that the Kenko does not degrade the IQ much when used...? So, it is worth the $130 plus, to get the extra reach... or would it be better to save for the Pentax TC's that show occasionally? I had a Quantaray 2x and it did not do as well as the lens cropped. I can't afford to waste the money if it doesn't help.

Has anyone had experience with this TC and Pentax zoom lenses? I have a 55-300 and would like to extent it a little. I am wondering how much is lost with this TC. I had a Quantaray TC and was not happy with the results. I would appreciate hearing others experience with the Kenko 1.5 . Thanks.

I too balk at $350. But here is my question: Is this TC (Pentax AF F 1.7) worth it? Is it better that a Kenko? How much better is the Kenko from the Vivitar or others, like the Sigma? I picked up a Quantaray 2x TC for $40 at a Ritz clearance, and I think that blowing up my raw image is as good or better. And how would this Pentax be with the DA 55-300? Can you direct me to any comparisons? thanks.

I have a K10 & K20. Right now I have a SunPak 355 flash which will work on both as a manual flash. Do you have any info on the Vivitar PRO-648? I have a 283 from the 70's with all of the accessories and it still works great (but not on my Pentax).
You implied that Sakar tended to be more cheaply built...is that true for all of the Vivitar models? You have an impressive site with all of that comparison information.
Thanks. VIVITAR we make it easy! | Product selector |
