I really like all 4 of them. The last one works for me as its slightly abstract and different in its pose, although not too sure about having the backdrop and floorcloth lit up as much as it is. But I love her expression, the shapes are really nice. I did some shots like this myself recently and I would have been very, very happy with these....

This was taken of my friend as a test shoot for an article I did for a magazine a little while ago now. Its not technically the most perfect image, but I caught her off guard in some really nice light and I love the feeling this image evokes with me....she looks just so relaxed....

Thanks Ernest! Yeah, England has some lovely places to shoot, but then doesn't everywhere? ;-)
Cheers and hope to see you around the site soon!

Hi guys!
Sorry, I have only just come across this part of the forum and should have introduced myself first, but I have already posted a couple of threads on the forum, so my bad!
Anyway, looking forward to interacting with you guys, getting loads of good info and passing on what I can...if anyone cares! lol!
I am an enthusiast who takes images mainly of people, but will have a go at anything. I am a K100D user at the moment, but once I am married in a couple of months, I shall hopefully be upgrading to a K7 to continue my quest! :D
I have a fair bit of gear now, all aquired on the cheap through friends, outlets and of course, eBay! But, hopefully you can see from this that I have made good use of it so far....fingers crossed!!! Flickr: Johnnyboy1000's Photostream
Happy browsing and what a great site this is! Good find!
Cheers and happy snapping!

Thanks Rondec...I shall probably stick with my software and take all images in DNG format in camera......seems like the most sensible way to go about things....thanks for clearing that up. I agree, storage is cheap.....

Hi ddharriman
When you say the camera produces smaller files, how do you mean? You shoot in PEF, then convert using Adobe Digital Negative Converted afterwards? This maintains the file size? Sorry, I am not sure I understand.....apologies....

Is this a switchable file format in the menu and native? That would be great if it is....excellent! Thanks for that!

Hi
Just wondering as I don't want to take the plunge and then find out I can't do anything with my images...
I am going to be in the fortunate position to be able to upgrade my K100D to a K7 in the near future. I am currently using Photoshop CS3, Bridge and LR 2.6 and I was wondering, can I still use the K7 with these pieces of software or am I going to have to upgrade to CS4 to get the correct ACR update?
Of course, I would rather not if have to, but if someone can tell me if this is the case, then I would be most grateful. Thanks in advance

Thats fantastic information Class A! Nice one and MUCH appreciated! Will check on that and seems simple enough to measure. The radio trigger was going to be the way I was going to go mainly anyway and you have given me a couple of names I hadn't heard about. I shall check them out and check out the tricks and tips!
Thanks again and MUCH appreciated!

Hi Wombat
No, not got a clue how to test the voltage of the unit, although on other forums and sites I have seen people test them with voltmeters and similar gadgets. I am not an electrician, so wouldn't know where to start with this! But it seems like its quite a popular way of going about things.
As for the voltage the camera can take, your ballpark figure is pretty similar to the one I have seen bandied about in various places. I have options on a couple of older flashes, so need to know both the camera capability and the flash voltage and can't seem to get any info on either! I am hopefully primarily going to be using it off camera anyway, but I just want to know if I have the option of blowing the camera to bits!
Keep looking, cos I will be! Hope the thread comes up with something and answers your question!
Cheers

Hi guys
I am new to this site and could do with a few pointers for a newbie regarding flashguns...
What would be the maximum allowed trigger voltage for a K100D? Does anyone know? I have done a search on here and the answer seems to be quite vague. Its not in the manual for the camera and others don't seem to have a spot on figure. The consensus of opinion seems to be "around" 30V. Is this the case?
I am looking to get an older flash gun to try a bit of off camera flash work (I intend to buy a cheap remote trigger), so that shouldn't be a problem. But if I decide to use the flash ON the camera, it would be nice to know if I am going to blow the camera up or not! lol! I have been using my K100D to pretty good effect of over the past couple of years but have resisted the flash route, but now I want to try something different. I hope you can all help!
Thanks in advance
Cheers guys
John
